Inventory Executive / Stock Controller – Retail

Salary: ₹10,000–₹15,000 per month, based on relevant experience
Job Type: Full-time, on-site
Working Hours: 9:30 AM–9:30 PM, with breaks as per the agreed schedule

We are looking for an experienced Inventory Executive to manage item records, goods receiving, stock accuracy, and damaged stock follow-up for our crockery and household retail store.

Key Responsibilities

1. Item Master Management

• Create and maintain accurate product names, item codes, categories, units, barcodes, and brand details.
• Update purchase prices and approved selling prices in the inventory software.
• Identify duplicate items, incorrect entries, and missing product information.
• Maintain correct details for individual pieces, packs, and sets.

2. Goods Receiving

• Check incoming goods against supplier invoices and purchase orders, where available.
• Verify product models, quantities, units, and physical condition.
• Record shortages, excess quantities, incorrect items, and breakages before confirming receipt.
• Coordinate with the purchase and accounts teams to resolve discrepancies.

3. Stock Checking and Control

• Conduct regular floor-wise and category-wise physical stock checks.
• Compare physical stock with software records and investigate differences.
• Record stock transfers between the godown and showroom floors.
• Make stock adjustments only after management approval.
• Identify slow-moving, non-moving, and out-of-stock items and report them to management.

4. Damaged Stock and Supplier Returns

• Maintain a damage register with item details, quantity, reason, photographs, and value.
• Separate damaged goods from saleable stock.
• Coordinate approved supplier returns, replacements, and claims.
• Follow up until replacement goods or credit notes are received.
• Do not dispose of, write off, or sell damaged goods without approval.

5. Reporting and Coordination

• Submit a daily report covering goods received, stock discrepancies, damages, returns, and pending actions.
• Coordinate with sales, purchase, accounts, and godown staff.
• Maintain supporting documents for stock corrections and supplier claims.

Requirements

• Previous practical experience in inventory or stock management is required.
• Experience in crockery, household goods, supermarkets, or similar retail businesses is preferred.
• Ability to use inventory/billing software, barcode systems, and basic Excel.
• Good attention to detail and ability to handle physical stock verification.
• Ability to communicate with the team in Malayalam.
