Inventory Planner, Japan (在庫プランナー)

Location: Yokohama, Japan

Report to: Operations Manager, Japan and Korea

Role Purpose

Manage stock levels so products are available when customers need them, while avoiding too much or outdated stock. Help reduce backorders and improve delivery performance.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management:

• Review sales data and forecasts to plan stock levels
• Make sure the right amount of stock is ordered at the right time
• Set and manage safety stock and reorder levels
• Track stock performance (e.g. slow-moving or old stock)
• Take action to reduce excess or outdated stock (returns, transfers, promotions)
• Work with Sales, Product, and Marketing to improve demand forecasts
• Create simple reports on stock levels and performance
• Look for ways to improve and simplify processes

Backorder Management:

• Monitor backorders and take action to reduce them
• Find root causes (e.g. low stock, delays) and fix issues
• Prioritize important or urgent orders
• Check delivery dates with suppliers and speed up where needed
• Respond to questions about stock availability
• Review high-value backorders regularly
• Support actions to improve order availability and reduce delays

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in inventory planning, supply chain, or similar role
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Able to work with different teams
• Good Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP)
• Good English communication skills
• Able to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure
