Thuma is looking for an Inventory Planner to join our growing team. Reporting to the Head of Finance & Planning, this role will help design, operate and improve our inventory forecasting and purchasing model. We are looking for a candidate who has experience managing inventory purchased from a variety of vendors with varying complexities.

Thuma’s Headquarters is based in the historic Presidio neighborhood of San Francisco. This is a hybrid role, and candidates should be available to come into our SF office 1 - 3 times a week.

You Will

  • Own and operate Thuma’s inventory and demand planning model
  • Forecast inventory by SKU based on historical trends, seasonality impacts and other factors that impact inventory and demand
  • Partner with Thuma’s Product Development team on production scheduling and forecasting for new products
  • Lead communication with key vendors and onboarding new suppliers for Thuma's growing product catalog, while tracking purchase orders from placement through delivery to the DC and monitoring receipt timing against launch and in-stock targets
  • Report on key performance metrics related to inventory - including weeks of supply on hand, turnover rate, minimum stock, etc.
  • Partner with finance to ensure target metrics are optimizing profitability and revenue
  • Propose new solutions to improve forecast accuracy and inventory optimization
  • Support the transition to a robust cloud-based inventory management tool
  • Work cross functionally on strategic initiatives, such as retail expansion, warehouse optimization, or category expansion projects.

This Might Describe You

  • 2+ years of inventory planning experience, or other planning experience such as finance, project management, or similar
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel and familiarity with software based solutions for inventory planning
  • A self-starter who is able to work independently
  • Strong analytical skills + understanding of key drivers that impact inventory planning and demand forecasting
  • Desire to grow and increase responsibility in line with Thuma’s high growth strategy
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
