What they need
Inventory Pricing Specialist
Children’s Consignment Store
About the Role
We are looking for a fast-paced, detail-oriented Inventory Pricing Specialist to join our team at a busy children’s consignment store. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, thinks logically, recognizes patterns, and can quickly learn and follow established systems.
We have pricing systems and guidelines already in place. We need someone who can learn those systems, apply them consistently, make sound pricing decisions, and work efficiently in a fast-moving retail environment.
Responsibilities
- Review and price incoming children’s clothing, shoes, toys, books, and baby gear according to established guidelines.
- Learn and follow our existing pricing systems, processes, and standards.
- Recognize patterns in brands, styles, sizes, condition, and resale value to make consistent pricing decisions.
- Work quickly and efficiently while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Identify items that meet our quality and resale standards.
- Organize and process inventory to keep items moving through the pricing workflow.
- Ask thoughtful questions, learn from feedback, and become increasingly independent in decision-making.
- Maintain consistency in pricing across similar items.
What We’re Looking For
- A quick learner: Able to understand a system and apply it independently after training.
- A pattern thinker: Naturally recognizes similarities, differences, and trends and uses that information to make consistent decisions.
- Fast and efficient: Comfortable working at a steady, productive pace without sacrificing accuracy.
- Detail-oriented: Notices condition, brand, wear, style, and other factors that affect pricing.
- Logical and practical: Can follow guidelines and make reasonable decisions within an established framework.
- Self-motivated: Takes initiative and does not need constant supervision once trained.
- Adaptable: Comfortable learning new processes and adjusting as inventory and priorities change.
Ideal Candidate
You may be a great fit for this position if you enjoy figuring out how things work, spotting patterns, solving practical problems, and finding ways to work smarter. You take pride in being productive, learning quickly, and getting things right.
Retail or consignment experience is helpful but not required. We can teach our pricing system; we are looking for someone with the natural ability to learn it quickly and use it well.
Success in This Role
Success means learning our pricing system quickly, pricing inventory accurately and consistently, maintaining a strong pace, and becoming a reliable, independent member of the team.
If you are a quick thinker who enjoys organized systems, recognizes patterns, and likes to stay productive, we would love to meet you.
