Investment Analyst – Public Equities (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for an Investment Analyst to join a small, research-driven investment team focused on publicly listed companies. This is a genuine equity research role—not a data-entry, report-formatting, trading, or call-centre position. You will research businesses, identify investment opportunities, monitor portfolio companies, and develop clear, evidence-based views that may influence investment decisions. Our focus includes software and SaaS businesses, serial acquirers and roll-ups, and founder-led companies. We typically invest with a two- to three-year time horizon and seek businesses that are both undervalued and capable of sustained growth.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain a watchlist of publicly listed companies that fit the investment mandate.
• Research companies using annual reports, financial statements, earnings transcripts, regulatory filings, competitor disclosures, customer reviews, industry data, and other credible sources.
• Assess business models, competitive advantages, returns on capital, reinvestment opportunities, cash generation, valuation, and management quality.
• Prepare company profiles and investment research notes.
• Monitor existing portfolio positions and prepare concise weekly updates.
• Track earnings releases, company announcements, regulatory developments, competitor results, and management commentary.
• Produce detailed investment research reports on high-potential companies.
• Identify what the market currently believes and develop an independent view.
• Clearly explain why the market may be wrong and what evidence could validate or disprove the investment thesis.
• Build and maintain simple financial models and spreadsheet analyses.

About you

• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to explain complex business and financial concepts clearly.
• Comfortable reading financial statements and company filings.
• Ability to build or understand basic financial models in spreadsheets.
• Strong analytical, research, and critical-thinking skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to factual accuracy.
• Willingness to question assumptions, including your own conclusions.
• Ability to communicate uncertainty honestly and distinguish facts from assumptions.
• Genuine interest in how businesses operate, make money, grow, and allocate capital.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
