Responsible for the design, deployment, and lifecycle management of IIoT solutions at all division sites (if applicable). Establish a Unified Namespace (UNS), secure edge connectivity, scalable device management, and streaming analytics to enable Smart Factory and Smart Logistics outcomes, ensuring compliance with ISA-95/ISA-88, IEC 62443, and regional data privacy requirements (e.g., GDPR for Europe). Collaborate with Ind4.0, Operations, Controls/Automation, IT/Digital, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to deliver an integrated IIoT stack aligned to divisional goals and corporate architecture standards. Scope & Footprint Local responsibility for the assigned site(s) within the division. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures tailored to the site and implement a structured approach for pilot → scale → sustain initiatives. Schedule and coordinate local operations and change windows to align with site-specific needs; ensure compliance with data residency and lawful data handling requirements for all local activities. Key Responsibilities Architecture & Connectivity

• Own the division-wide IIoT reference architecture (edge → broker → UNS → data lake/warehouse) using MQTT/OPC UA; standardize topic hierarchy and naming.
• Deploy secure industrial edge gateways at all sites; implement device provisioning, PKI/certificates, time sync (PTP/NTP), telemetry buffering for intermittent networks.
• Integrate shop-floor assets (PLCs/robots/sensors) and logistics sensors (RFID/BLE/UWB) into UNS; connect MES/MOM, SCADA, historians, WMS/TMS/ERP for end-to-end flow.
• Publish reusable connectors/templates to accelerate onboarding; maintain a global configuration baseline with local overlays. Edge & Device Lifecycle
• Implement IoT Hub/Device Management (Azure IoT Hub/Edge, AWS IoT or equivalent) for provisioning, configuration, OTA/FOTA/SOTA, and health monitoring.
• Build containerized edge workloads (protocol translation, normalization, rule engines, vision, encryption) with CI/CD, canary releases, and rollback.
• Define golden images and regional runbooks; manage spares, obsolescence, and firmware patching across Americas/Europe/APAC.
• Instrument assets for condition monitoring and predictive maintenance; stream time-series to historians and analytics. Data Engineering & Analytics
• Design streaming pipelines (Kafka/AMQP), schema registries, and data contracts; curate data in lakes/warehouses for BI/ML (OEE, FPY, energy, OTIF, inventory accuracy).
• Implement digital twins for critical assets and flows; enable event-driven alerts, e-andon, and prescriptive actions via control towers and MES/WMS workflows.
• Deliver Division dashboards; define KPIs, SLAs, and data quality checks for telemetry/events. Security & Compliance
• Apply IEC 62443: zone/conduit design, industrial DMZ, firewall policies, micro-segmentation/VLANs, protocol whitelisting, secure remote access, secrets management.
• Implement X.509 identity, TLS/DTLS encryption, certificate rotation; integrate logs with SIEM and define incident response for OT/IoT systems; run tabletop exercises annually.
• Coordinate with Legal/Compliance for data privacy (GDPR, CCPA, PDPA, China CSL); document data flows, residency and lawful transfer mechanisms; maintain PRA documentation. Manufacturing & Logistics Use Cases
• Real-time production visibility (OEE, energy, scrap) and digital quality (SPC, vision) with traceability/genealogy from supplier to customer.
• Smart Logistics: RTLS for yard/warehouse, AMR/AGV integration, eKanban, dock scheduling, material call; telematics for inbound/outbound flows.
• Predictive maintenance and condition monitoring (vibration, temperature, acoustic, oil analysis) with automated CMMS work orders.
• Safety/compliance sensing (environmental, ergonomic, machine safety interlocks) with automated alerts and workflows. Governance & Delivery
• Lead the global IIoT steering community; align funding and priorities with regional/site leadership; maintain portfolio backlogs and quarterly increments (pilot → scale → sustain).
• Run vendor evaluations, RFPs, and PoCs; ensure interoperability, lifecycle support, adherence to enterprise standards; negotiate global/MSAs where beneficial.
• Develop training paths; coach teams on Lean/MAFACT digital problem solving. Technical Knowledge (Detailed) Standards & Architectures
• ISA-95/ISA-88, RAMI 4.0, IEC 62443, NIST CSF; Unified Namespace concepts and reference architectures.
• Manufacturing data modeling, asset hierarchies, semantic context, topic design; configuration management. Protocols & Connectivity
• MQTT (ISO/IEC 20922), OPC UA, Modbus/TCP, EtherNet/IP, Profinet; broker patterns; QoS; retained messages; last-will; time sync (PTP/NTP).
• RFID, BLE, UWB, barcode for logistics/RTLS; sensor selection, calibration, and interference considerations. Edge & Device Management
• Azure IoT Hub/Edge, AWS IoT Core/Greengrass (or equivalent); device twins, OTA/FOTA/SOTA; container orchestration and monitoring. Platform Integration
• MES/MOM, SCADA/HMI, historians (OSIsoft PI/AVEVA, Canary); WMS/TMS/ERP (e.g., SAP EWM/S4, Manhattan). Data & Analytics
• Event streaming ETL/ELT, data lakes/warehouses, SQL/Python; digital twins; BI (Power BI/Tableau). Cybersecurity & Privacy
• Industrial DMZs, firewalls, VLANs, zero-trust for OT; TLS/DTLS, X.509, key rotation; SIEM; incident response and DR; GDPR. Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or related field.
• 10–15+ years building and scaling IIoT solutions across multi-site, multi-region manufacturing and logistics.
• Hands-on with MQTT/OPC UA, edge gateways, IoT Hub/Device Management, and integration to MES/WMS/ERP.
• Experience with RTLS (RFID/BLE/UWB) and AMR/AGV integrations across diverse environments.
• Proficiency in data engineering/analytics and BI; strong vendor management and change leadership. Certifications (Preferred)
• ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Specialist
• Cloud IoT certifications (Azure, AWS)
• PMP/Agile (Scrum or SAFe) Metrics (KPIs)
• Establish UNS and edge connectivity for top 40% critical assets across all 22 sites; ＞99.5% telemetry uptime for prioritized assets.
• Reduce unplanned downtime by 20% on instrumented lines; deliver +5 pts OEE improvement across pilots; energy intensity reduced by 3–5%.
• Improve OTIF by +5 pts and inventory accuracy by +2 pts through Smart Logistics instrumentation.
• Cybersecurity posture uplift to IEC 62443-aligned maturity baseline across divisional sites.
• Publish global IoT playbook and standard connectors; 100% of new lines follow standard onboarding template. Reporting & Travel Reports to Divisional Operational Excellence Lead, with dotted line to Mirrors Global Ind4.0 Responsible. Collaborates closely with the Ind4.0 Division Responsible and partners with Site General Managers, Plant Managers, as well as leaders in Engineering, Quality, IT/Digital, and Supply Chain. Occasional international travel may be required to facilitate best practice sharing. Additional Notes Scope may evolve with technology maturity and business priorities.
