IoT Engineer

About the role

PAINPOINTTODAY CO., LTD. is building an automated scoring system for a specific sport. Cameras and sensors on each court feed a small on-site computer, which tracks the game and updates a live scoreboard without an operator. We are looking for an IoT Engineer in Phra Khanong, Bangkok, to own the layer between hardware and software: you will choose, install, connect, and maintain the devices on court, and make sure the data they produce reaches our software reliably.

This is a full-time, hands-on role. Part of your time is spent at the desk writing firmware and integration code, and part is spent at venues mounting cameras, wiring equipment, and fixing problems on site.

Key responsibilities

• Install and configure RTSP IP cameras at courts, including positioning, mounting, network setup, and stream tuning for stable, low-latency video
• Set up and maintain the on-site mini PC or simplified computer that runs the scoring and video software at each court
• Develop and maintain firmware for court devices such as ESP32-based scoring pads and BLE wearables
• Build the links between devices, the on-site computer, and our cloud backend using WebSocket, MQTT, REST APIs, and similar protocols
• Work with the software and computer vision team to deliver the video and sensor data they need for ball tracking and automatic scoring
• Design the venue network and power setup so that the system keeps running through unstable WiFi, heat, and long operating hours
• Set up remote monitoring and updates so that devices at many venues can be managed without a site visit
• Test, debug, and troubleshoot hardware and software issues, both remotely and on site
• Evaluate and select hardware with cost, reliability, and ease of installation in mind
• Document installation procedures, wiring, and configurations so that deployments can be repeated at new venues

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• 2 or more years of experience in IoT, embedded systems, or hardware and software integration
• Proficiency in C or C++ for microcontrollers, and Python or JavaScript (Node.js) for integration work
• Hands-on experience with microcontrollers and simplified computers, such as ESP32, Arduino, or Raspberry Pi
• Experience with IP cameras and video streaming, including RTSP and tools such as FFmpeg or GStreamer
• Comfortable with Linux administration on small computers, including services, networking, and remote access
• Good understanding of networking basics: WiFi, Ethernet, PoE, IP addressing, and router configuration
• Knowledge of device communication protocols such as WebSocket, MQTT, and BLE
• Practical hardware skills, including wiring, soldering, and reading schematics
• Willing to travel to venues in and around Bangkok for installation and support
• Experience with Git and clear technical documentation

Nice to have

• Experience running computer vision models on edge devices, using OpenCV, YOLO, or similar
• Experience with AWS services such as S3 or AWS IoT
• Experience with enclosure design, 3D printing, or preparing a prototype for small-batch production
• Interest in pickleball or other racket sports
