Job Summary

Hirenest is hiring a senior IoT Platform Engineer to design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performance IoT platforms handling real-time telemetry and data ingestion.

The role combines hands-on development, cloud architecture, technical leadership, mentoring, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop IoT platforms, backend services and REST APIs.
• Build event-driven and serverless architectures using AWS.
• Develop services using Java 17+, Spring Boot 3.x, Lambda and ECS/Fargate.
• Work with real-time telemetry, IoT data ingestion and distributed systems.
• Design APIs using API Gateway, authentication, caching and rate limiting.
• Develop data/ETL pipelines using Python, AWS Glue and PySpark.
• Lead architecture, code reviews, technical decisions and mentoring.
• Troubleshoot performance, scalability, security and production issues.
• Implement monitoring and observability using CloudWatch and X-Ray.

Must-Have Skills

• 14+ years software engineering experience.
• 6+ years AWS hands-on experience.
• 5+ years technical leadership / Lead Developer experience.
• 3+ years mentoring or managing engineering teams.
• 2+ years IoT / telemetry / real-time data experience.
• Java 17+, Spring Boot 3.x, AWS SDK for Java v2
• AWS IoT Core, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Kinesis, SQS/SNS, EventBridge, ECS/Fargate
• OpenSearch, AWS Glue, Redshift, S3, Step Functions
• Python, PySpark, boto3 and SQL
• REST APIs, OAuth2, JWT and IAM
• Docker, Git, Maven and GitHub Actions
• Event-Driven Architecture, Serverless, Microservices, CQRS and Stream Processing
• MQTT, UDP, Binary Protocols and Telematics
• JUnit, Integration/Load Testing, CloudWatch and X-Ray

Good to Have

Groovy, Snowflake, Apache Spark/PySpark, Liquibase, Linux and Binary Protocol Parsing.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Computer Science / Computer Engineering.

A hands-on technical leader with strong AWS + Java + IoT expertise who can design scalable cloud-native systems, mentor teams, solve complex technical problems, and drive production-grade delivery.
