IP Billing executive

We are looking for an experienced IP Billing Executive with hands-on experience in in-patient (IP) billing, preferably with exposure to ESI, Railway, and CGHS patients/beneficiaries. The candidate will be responsible for accurate billing, documentation, claim preparation, verification, and coordination with insurance/government scheme departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle complete IP billing processes from admission to discharge.
• Prepare and verify patient bills, discharge billing, and final settlements.
• Handle billing and documentation for ESI, Railway, and CGHS beneficiaries.
• Verify scheme eligibility, approvals, packages, tariffs, and required documentation.
• Prepare and submit claims/bills as per applicable scheme guidelines.
• Coordinate with medical records, insurance/TPA, accounts, and hospital departments for billing requirements.
• Ensure accurate entry of procedures, investigations, medicines, consumables, and room charges.
• Identify billing discrepancies and resolve them before final submission.
• Maintain proper records of submitted, pending, rejected, and settled claims.
• Follow up on rejected/queried claims and coordinate for necessary corrections.
• Assist in audits and provide supporting documents when required.
• Ensure compliance with hospital billing policies and applicable scheme requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2–5 years of experience in hospital IP billing.
• Prior experience handling ESI / Railway / CGHS billing is preferred.
• Good knowledge of hospital billing procedures and documentation.
• Understanding of government health schemes and package-based billing.
• Experience in claim preparation, scrutiny, and reconciliation.
• Good computer skills and familiarity with hospital billing/HIS software.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Candidate

Candidates who have hands-on experience in ESI, Railway, and CGHS billing and understand the complete process from patient admission → billing → claim submission → query handling → settlement will be preferred.

Education

Graduate / Diploma in any relevant discipline. Hospital Administration, Healthcare Management, Commerce, or related qualifications will be an advantage.
