Responsibilities:
Develop the company's annual IP plan — including work plans and budget plans — in alignment with R&D and business strategies; define IP priorities across target markets (NEV, IDC, cold chain).
Establish and continuously improve IP management systems: patent and trademark application processes, technical confidentiality regulations, R&D-to-IP transformation workflows, and internal IP governance frameworks.
Coordinate IP work across departments; assign tasks to IP specialists; liaise with external agencies including patent offices and law firms to ensure timely and high-quality IP deliverables.
Regularly report to management on IP asset status, portfolio progress, risk exposure, and key milestones; provide data-driven IP landscape insights to support strategic decisions.
Lead patent mining, portfolio strategy, drafting review, and prosecution oversight around core technologies; build a high-value patent portfolio that establishes competitive barriers.
Monitor competitor patent activity; conduct freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses and develop design-around strategies; manage patent disputes and enforcement matters.
Drive patent licensing, assignment, and equity investment transactions; execute IP commercialization initiatives.
Identify and apply for government grants, subsidies, and recognition programs related to intellectual property (e.g., national/provincial patent awards).
Requirements:
Full-time Master's degree or above; candidates with a combined background in engineering (electrical/communications/mechanical) and law are preferred.
2+ years of in-depth experience in IP application, patent portfolio layout, IP risk prevention, infringement investigation, IP portfolio management, and IP team management; Patent Attorney qualification certificate required.
In-depth knowledge of patent law and examination guidelines; strong technical comprehension across relevant domains; proficient in English-language patent search and analysis.
Proven ability to develop IP strategies from a business competition perspective; prior experience handling overseas litigation, patent licensing negotiations, or building IP barriers in a high-growth technology company is a strong plus.
Strong organizational, cross-functional coordination, and team leadership skills; able to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
