Working with an organisation that values the safety, wellbeing and quality of life of older people, their families and staff. You'll join a collaborative team focused on strengthening clinical governance, continuous improvement and contemporary, person-centred care across residential aged care services.

This is an opportunity to further develop your career in Infection Prevention & Control, with the chance to influence practice across multiple sites and work alongside experienced clinical, quality and compliance leaders.

About the Role:

As an Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) Practice Coordinator, you will play a key role in strengthening infection prevention and control practices across OneCare's residential aged care services.

Working in a state-wide capacity under the direction of the Manager Quality & Compliance, you will work closely with Clinical Managers, site IPC Leads, clinical leaders, quality and compliance teams, service managers and care teams.

You will support consistent surveillance, auditing, monitoring, education, training and competency development, helping services identify infection risks early, respond effectively to outbreaks and embed evidence-informed IPC practices into everyday care.

This role will also contribute to clinical governance and continuous improvement, supporting alignment with the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards.

Main Duties

  • Support IPC surveillance and monitoring across residential aged care services
  • Coordinate and support IPC audits, including hand hygiene, PPE, environmental cleaning, equipment hygiene, waste, linen, sharps, aseptic practice and invasive device management
  • Provide practical IPC education, coaching and competency support to clinical and non-clinical staff
  • Support hand hygiene and PPE competency assessments, observation and follow-up
  • Assist sites with outbreak preparedness, response and post-outbreak reviews
  • Review IPC data, audit outcomes and infection trends to identify risks and improvement opportunities
  • Support clinical governance reporting, risk escalation and continuous improvement activities
  • Assist with the development and review of IPC policies, procedures, checklists, guidelines and education resources

Benefits:

  • State-wide role with exposure across multiple residential aged care services
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on infection prevention and resident safety
  • Work alongside experienced clinical, quality and compliance leadership teams
  • Opportunities for ongoing professional development and education
  • Variety in your role, with involvement across auditing, education, governance and continuous improvement
  • Opportunity to develop specialist IPC and clinical governance expertise
  • Travel and accommodation support for reasonable state-wide travel

Skills & Requirements:

  • Current AHPRA Registered Nurse registration
  • Current unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence
  • Postgraduate qualification or current enrolment in Infection Prevention & Control, Clinical Governance, Quality, Education, Public Health or Aged Care
