What they need

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our growing Interventional Radiology and Vascular Surgery practice. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced interventional radiologists and vascular surgeons in a dynamic, procedure-focused environment with a strong emphasis on patient-centered care. This role offers a balanced mix of clinic, peri-procedural management, and hands-on procedural experience, making it ideal for an APP looking to expand their skillset and autonomy.

The PA/NP will initially focus on clinical visits, building a strong foundation in vascular anatomy, physiology, and disease processes. Through hands-on training with a lead APP and supervising physician, you will gain experience in interpreting vascular ultrasounds and assessing stages of peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and venous insufficiency to guide appropriate therapeutic interventions. As clinical proficiency is established, the role will transition to include performing venous procedures, supporting the development of a well-rounded, procedure-oriented clinical skill set.

This position will require traveling between our Petersburg and Emporia locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive outpatient clinical visits for patients with peripheral arterial disease (PAD), venous insufficiency, embolizations, and various vascular consults.

  • Perform pre- and post-procedure evaluations and follow-ups

  • Learn to interpret vascular ultrasound studies and integrate imaging findings into clinical decision-making

  • Develop a strong foundation in vascular anatomy, physiology, and disease processes

  • Collaborate closely with the supervising physician, lead APP, ultrasound technicians, and OBL staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality care

  • Perform venous procedures independently (training available for clinically strong candidates; prior procedural experience preferred), including: sclerotherapy, radiofrequency ablation, and Venaseal

  • Provide patient education and compassionate guidance on disease management and treatment options

  • Maintain high standards of patient safety, documentation accuracy, and care coordination

  • Graduate of an accredited PA or NP program

  • Board-certified and licensed to practice in Virginia

  • Strong interest in interventional radiology, including vascular anatomy, physiology, and the treatment of peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and venous insufficiency

  • Minimum 1–2 years of procedural experience preferred (experience in Interventional Radiology, Vascular Surgery, Critical Care, or Emergency Medicine highly desirable)

  • Comfortable with ultrasound-guided procedures and maintaining sterile technique

  • Strong clinical judgment with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

  • Excellent communication skills and commitment to providing high-quality patient care and education

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience in Interventional Radiology or Endovascular procedures
  • Familiarity with out-patient based lab (OBL) or ambulatory surgery center workflows
  • Experience with vein procedures and PAD management

Why Join Us?

  • A dynamic and growing practice with opportunities for professional development.
  • Hands-on, personalized training by experienced providers.
  • No hospital coverage, no weekend or on-call shifts – a great work-life balance.
  • Opportunity to become an integral part of a friendly, supportive team dedicated to patient-centered care.

If you are an enthusiastic Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner eager to advance your career in interventional radiology and join a supportive team, we would love to hear from you! Apply today to be part of our growing practice in Virginia!
