Irrigation and Systems Manager

About the role:
 
JTC Viticulture Ltd is seeking an experienced Irrigation and Systems Manager to strategically manage irrigation systems across its extensive client base. Reporting to the Owners, this role combines hands-on irrigation experience with the smooth running of our existing irrigation systems and involvement in new development projects.
 
What you'll be doing:

• Managing the operational and maintenance aspects of our irrigation and frost systems.
• Develop and implement seasonal irrigation schedules and manage water consents and compliance requirements.
• Operate computerised and manual irrigation controllers and forward plan system replacements and upgrades.
• Operate pumps and irrigation systems, ensuring designated design flows and pressures are achieved.
• Liaise with clients, write SOPs, maintain spreadsheets and manage irrigation reporting.
• Maintaining weather stations and telemetry equipment across our range of sites in the Wairau and Awatere valley's.

What we're looking for:

• A relevant qualification is preferred, supported by good practical experience managing irrigation systems.
• An in-depth understanding of modern irrigation systems including installation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• The ability to diagnose and repair faults.
• Ability to implement the in season irrigation schedules whilst ensuring Council compliance and consents are adhered to.
• Strong computer skills, with confidence using irrigation systems, spreadsheets and reporting tools.
• Strong time management and organisational skills, with a keen eye for detail and an analytical approach.
• Initiative, sound judgement and the ability to fit well within a diverse, positive and fun team.
