What they need

We are looking for an experienced and dependable Irrigation Technician to join our team. This position will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and servicing residential and commercial irrigation systems throughout Wise County and surrounding areas.

We need someone who can arrive at a property, diagnose irrigation problems, determine the proper repair, communicate what is needed, and complete quality work efficiently.

This is a hands-on field position that requires irrigation knowledge, problem-solving ability, customer communication, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot residential and commercial irrigation systems.
  • Locate and repair leaks, broken lines, damaged fittings, valves, sprinkler heads, and other irrigation components.
  • Diagnose electrical and controller-related irrigation issues.
  • Replace and adjust sprinkler heads, nozzles, valves, solenoids, and other components.
  • Troubleshoot coverage, pressure, and watering issues.
  • Program, adjust, and troubleshoot irrigation controllers.
  • Perform irrigation system inspections and system start-ups/checks.
  • Identify necessary repairs and communicate recommendations clearly.
  • Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
  • Document labor, materials, repairs, and job information accurately.
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding system issues and completed repairs.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, parts, and assigned vehicle.
  • Coordinate with office staff and other crews regarding scheduling and additional work.
  • Assist with irrigation installations and larger irrigation projects as needed.
  • Follow company safety procedures and maintain a clean, professional job site.
  • Use Service Autopilot to receive job information, track work, and document completed services.

Qualifications

Previous irrigation experience is strongly preferred.

The ideal candidate should have experience with:

  • Irrigation troubleshooting and repair.
  • PVC pipe, fittings, valves, sprinkler heads, and irrigation components.
  • Irrigation controllers and basic electrical troubleshooting.
  • Locating leaks and identifying system failures.
  • Adjusting sprinkler coverage and correcting watering problems.
  • Residential and commercial irrigation systems.
  • Reading basic irrigation plans or system layouts.
  • Working independently and making field decisions.
  • Communicating professionally with customers.

Candidates must also:

  • Have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Be dependable and able to work outdoors in Texas weather.
  • Be able to perform physically demanding work, including digging, lifting, bending, and working around irrigation trenches.
  • Be willing to travel throughout Wise County and surrounding service areas.
  • Be comfortable using a smartphone or tablet for scheduling and job documentation.

Service Autopilot experience is a plus but is not required. Training can be provided.

Irrigation License

A Texas Landscape Irrigator License or Irrigation Technician License is strongly preferred.

Candidates with substantial irrigation experience who are working toward applicable licensing may also be considered depending on qualifications.

What We're Looking For

We aren't looking for someone who only knows how to replace a sprinkler head.

We want someone who can troubleshoot a system, find the actual cause of the problem, determine what needs to be repaired, and get the system operating correctly again.

Minimum 2 years of experience

The right candidate will be dependable, organized, comfortable working independently, and capable of representing our company professionally when dealing directly with customers.
