About the Company

A leading global insurance organization operating in approximately 70 countries and jurisdictions is seeking a Security Engineering Lead for its Information Security Organization in Japan. The role drives security engineering across the full security tool stack, spanning on-premise infrastructure and multi-cloud environments, and acts as the key technical expert for security matters across Japan and the wider APAC region.

Skills and Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in on-premise and cloud security or related roles, with hands-on experience in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• 3+ years of experience in a supervisory, lead, or management role.
• 8+ years of direct, hands-on experience with cloud security posture management, DevOps code scanning, and IaC automation.
• Deep understanding of cloud/cloud-hybrid platforms and associated security tools and processes.
• In-depth knowledge of Critical Security Controls (NIST, CIS Benchmarks, DISA STIG) and international standards (ISO 27001/27002, PCI DSS, SOX).
• English fluency; intermediate Japanese for email and meetings with local counterparts.

Nice to Have

• Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, Security+, or cloud security tracks for Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Scripting knowledge using PowerShell, Python, or Linux shell.
• Experience with SIEM and tool integrations, with CrowdStrike NextGen SIEM specifically preferred.

• Concrete examples of leading cloud security posture management end to end, across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
• Examples of mentoring junior team members and operating as a trusted advisor on security matters.
• A clear view of your Japanese level against the intermediate bar, and your English fluency.
