ROLE OVERVIEW

An IT/Access Control Technician is responsible for the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and technical support of IT systems and electronic access control systems such as smart locks, RFID card readers, door controllers, and elevator access control.

REQUIREMENTS

• Graduate of IT, Electronics, Electrical, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical course
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in IT, access control, security systems, or a related technical field
• Knowledge of basic networking, structured cabling, electrical wiring, and troubleshooting.
• With hands-on experience in access control systems and automatic door systems
• Knowledge of door controllers, RFID/card readers, biometric readers, magnetic locks, electric strikes, exit buttons, sensors, and related devices
• Basic networking knowledge (LAN, TCP/IP, IP addressing, routers/switches)
• Able to configure, troubleshoot, test, and commission access control systems
• Able to understand wiring diagrams and troubleshoot electrical/communication issues
• Experience with CCTV, alarm systems, or other security systems is a plus
• Willing to work on-site and travel to project locations when required

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Install, configure, and commission electronic access control systems for doors, elevators, gates, and restricted areas.
• Install and terminate CAT6/network, power, and control wiring.
• Install and configure RFID/BLE card readers, electronic locks, controllers, exit buttons, sensors, and related devices.
• Configure access permissions, users, schedules, doors, and elevator/floor access.
• Perform basic network configuration and troubleshooting, including IP addresses, LAN connections, switches, and connectivity.
• Coordinate with clients' IT, Engineering, Facilities, and Property Management teams during installation and commissioning.
• Conduct system testing to ensure proper operation of locks, readers, controllers, and elevator access.
• Troubleshoot hardware, wiring, network, software, and access-related issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs.
• Assist in site surveys, technical assessments, and system installations.
• Prepare and maintain wiring diagrams, device lists, installation reports, test reports, and other technical documentation.
• Provide technical support and guidance to clients and end users.
• Ensure all installations comply with project specifications, safety requirements, and company standards.
