IT Admin - Senior IT Infrastructure & Network Engineer

Key Responsibilities

A. IT Department Leadership

• Lead, manage, and supervise the IT infrastructure and technical support team.
• Assign responsibilities, monitor team performance, and ensure timely completion of tasks and projects.
• Establish technical standards, operational procedures, security policies, and infrastructure best practices.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and escalation support to engineers and technicians.
• Coordinate with management, sales, procurement, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Monitor service delivery, resource utilisation, project progress, and departmental performance.

B. IT Infrastructure Project Delivery

• Take ownership of IT infrastructure projects from initial client consultation through design, implementation, testing, commissioning, and final handover.
• Conduct client-site visits, infrastructure assessments, technical surveys, and requirements gathering.
• Design and deploy complete network and IT infrastructure solutions for new offices and existing client environments.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs), technical proposals, implementation plans, project schedules, and resource estimates.
• Coordinate hardware procurement, installation, configuration, testing, and commissioning.
• Personally participate in critical technical installations, configurations, and troubleshooting activities.
• Manage project timelines, technical dependencies, risks, and client expectations.
• Ensure projects are delivered according to agreed scope, quality standards, and commercial requirements.

C. Networking & Firewall Security

• Design, configure, deploy, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure.
• Configure and manage Fortinet FortiGate and SonicWall firewalls.
• Implement VLANs, routing, switching, subnetting, NAT, ACLs, DHCP, DNS, VPNs, and network segmentation.
• Manage enterprise switches, including Cisco Catalyst/Meraki, FortiSwitch, and equivalent platforms.
• Configure routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP where required.
• Implement site-to-site and remote-access VPNs, firewall security policies, and secure connectivity.
• Monitor network performance, investigate complex issues, and implement corrective measures.
• Maintain firmware updates, configuration backups, security hardening, and change records.

D. Wireless Network Design & Deployment

• Conduct wireless site surveys, RF assessments, access point placement, and channel optimisation.
• Design and deploy enterprise Wi-Fi solutions using Cisco Meraki, Fortinet FortiAP, Ubiquiti UniFi, Aruba, or equivalent platforms.
• Configure wireless controllers, guest networks, captive portals, and network security policies.
• Troubleshoot wireless coverage, interference, roaming, and performance issues.
• Ensure reliable, secure, and scalable wireless connectivity for client environments.

E. Server, Storage & Virtualisation Management

• Install, configure, and administer Windows Server 2019, 2022, and 2025 environments.
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, print services, and other Windows Server roles.
• Deploy and configure physical servers, including rack installation, cabling, RAID, firmware, and commissioning.
• Design and implement SAN/NAS storage solutions, including iSCSI and Fibre Channel where required.
• Deploy and manage Microsoft Hyper-V environments, including virtual machine provisioning, migration, resource allocation, and performance optimisation.
• Configure Hyper-V Failover Clustering and Live Migration where required.
• Implement backup, restoration, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions using Veeam or equivalent tools.
• Troubleshoot complex server, storage, virtualisation, and infrastructure performance issues.

F. Microsoft 365 & Cloud Administration

• Administer Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Entra ID.
• Manage user accounts, access permissions, licensing, identity management, and security policies.
• Implement Microsoft Intune and endpoint management solutions where required.
• Support email migrations, Microsoft 365 migrations, tenant configuration, and cloud integration projects.
• Ensure secure configuration, appropriate access controls, and data protection practices.

G. Presales & Client Engagement

• Participate in client meetings to understand technical requirements and business objectives.
• Conduct site surveys and evaluate existing infrastructure.
• Prepare technical solution designs, network diagrams, BOMs, project estimates, and implementation proposals.
• Recommend suitable hardware, software, licensing, and infrastructure solutions.
• Coordinate with sales and procurement teams to validate technical specifications, compatibility, and project costs.
• Present technical solutions to clients and clarify implementation requirements, risks, and timelines.
• Ensure proposed solutions are technically feasible, commercially practical, and aligned with client expectations.

H. Technical Escalation & Security

• Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex infrastructure and network issues.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement preventive measures for recurring incidents.
• Establish patching, firmware update, monitoring, backup, and security hardening standards.
• Maintain change management records and ensure infrastructure modifications are properly documented and approved.
• Support incident response, recovery activities, and business continuity requirements.

I. Documentation & Project Handover

• Prepare and maintain network topology diagrams, IP addressing plans, server inventories, configuration records, and implementation documents.
• Maintain project schedules, testing records, commissioning reports, and installation checklists.
• Prepare complete handover documentation for clients and internal support teams.
• Ensure that asset details, warranty records, licensing information, and support arrangements are documented.
• Follow approved secure procedures for transferring administrative credentials.
• Obtain client acceptance and ensure all agreed project deliverables are completed.

3. Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or a related field is preferred.
• Relevant technical certifications in networking, infrastructure, Microsoft technologies, or virtualisation are advantageous.
• Strong practical knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure design, deployment, and administration.

4. Required Experience

• Minimum 9 years of relevant IT infrastructure, networking, and systems administration experience.
• Previous experience leading a technical team or managing infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record of delivering end-to-end IT infrastructure projects for clients.
• Strong hands-on experience in networking, firewalls, Windows Server, virtualisation, storage, and backup solutions.
• Experience working with an IT solutions provider, systems integrator, managed services provider, or enterprise IT department is preferred.
• Experience in client consultations, site surveys, technical design, project estimation, and final handover.
• Valid UAE driving licence required for regular client-site visits, where applicable.

6. Preferred Certifications

• Cisco CCNA or CCNP
• Relevant Fortinet certifications
• Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Administrator certifications or current equivalents
• Microsoft Azure or Microsoft 365 certifications
• VMware or other relevant virtualisation certifications

Pay: AED6,000.00 - AED15,000.00 per hour
