IT & Security Systems Technician

Job Summary

Dimension Systems, Inc. (DSI) is seeking a hands-on IT & Security Systems Technician to support the installation, deployment, and maintenance of technology systems for commercial and government projects throughout Guam.

This position is ideal for a technician with solid field experience in structured/network cabling, access control, surveillance systems, and/or audio-visual systems who is comfortable working across different types of technology installations.

The successful candidate will work alongside DSI's technical and project teams on projects that may include access control systems, IP surveillance cameras, digital signage and LED/video wall systems, network infrastructure, and other integrated technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A and other low-voltage cabling.
• Install and assist with configuration of access control systems, including readers, controllers, door devices, and associated cabling.
• Install and support IP surveillance cameras and related security-system equipment.
• Assist with the installation, mounting, cabling, alignment, and commissioning of video walls, LED displays, digital signage, and commercial display systems.
• Install and connect network devices and other IP-based equipment.
• Perform cable routing, labeling, termination, testing, and documentation in accordance with project requirements and industry practices.
• Troubleshoot connectivity, cabling, hardware, and device-related issues at customer sites.
• Read and follow floor plans, equipment layouts, cable schedules, installation drawings, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate field activities with project managers, engineers, vendors, subcontractors, and customer representatives.
• Perform equipment staging, testing, inventory verification, and pre-installation preparation.
• Maintain organized and professional job sites.
• Document installation progress, testing results, equipment information, and outstanding project items.
• Support system commissioning, customer acceptance testing, and punch-list completion.
• Perform other technical field duties related to DSI projects as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in one or more of the following:
• Structured/network cabling
• Access control systems
• CCTV/IP surveillance
• Low-voltage systems
• AV, digital signage, LED, or video wall installation
• Network or IT equipment installation
• Working knowledge of Ethernet networks, IP addressing, switches, and basic network troubleshooting.
• Experience terminating and testing copper network cabling.
• Familiarity with access control hardware and door-control systems.
• Experience with Verkada or other cloud-managed access control and surveillance platforms is a plus.
• Experience installing commercial displays, mounting systems, or video walls is a plus.
• Ability to use standard installation and testing tools safely and correctly.
• Ability to read basic construction drawings, floor plans, and system diagrams.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in the field while also working effectively as part of a project team.

Physical & Field Requirements

This is a hands-on field position. Candidates must be comfortable:

• Working at customer and active project sites.
• Using ladders and working at elevated locations when required.
• Pulling and routing low-voltage cable.
• Handling and installing technology equipment.
• Performing installation work in ceilings, telecommunications rooms, equipment rooms, and other field environments.
• Traveling to project locations throughout Guam.

Any electrical work requiring a licensed electrician will be performed in accordance with applicable licensing and code requirements.

• Ability to maintain a professional appearance and communicate effectively with customers.
• Must be dependable, organized, and able to follow project schedules and installation standards.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and complete manufacturer training or certifications as required.
• Ability to meet customer or government-site access requirements, including background screening when applicable.

We are looking for someone who is technically capable, dependable, and comfortable working with their hands. The ideal candidate does not need to be an expert in every system we deploy, but should have a strong technical foundation and the ability to learn.

A candidate with a combination of structured cabling and access control experience would be particularly well suited for this position.

DSI will provide product-specific training for qualified candidates as needed.

Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience, technical skills, and certifications.

Schedule: Full-Time
