IT & Systems Administrator (Microsoft 365 / Intune / Security)

About the company

We are an established engineering technology company with a team of about 20 to 100 people. We are looking for one person to own our IT.

The role

You will own our IT: laptops, accounts, Microsoft 365, security, backups and remote access. You set it up properly, write it down, keep it safe and make it better every quarter. You will work remotely from Malaysia with a regional team, report to a senior leader, and work closely with our software lead. This is a hands-on job for someone who likes order and takes ownership.

What you will do

• Administer Microsoft 365 and Entra ID: users, groups, licences, MFA, Conditional Access.
• Roll out and run Intune: enrol and encrypt every company laptop, push apps and policies, Autopilot for new devices, remote wipe for lost or leaver devices.
• Run Defender for Business, phishing awareness and the company cyber policy. Review and improve it every quarter.
• Set up and maintain Zero Trust remote access (Cloudflare or Tailscale), NAS and backups, and office firewall settings (UniFi).
• Own onboarding and offboarding: accounts on day one, all access removed on the last day, with a checklist.
• Run the helpdesk over Teams, keep the asset and licence register current, and send a one-page IT report every month.
• Coordinate vendors: ISP, Microsoft support, VAPT and cyber-certification assessors.
• Support remote access to PCs and lab equipment used by the engineering team.

What we are looking for

• Diploma or degree in IT, Computer Science or similar.
• 4+ years administering Microsoft 365 / Entra ID and Intune for a company of 20-100 people.
• Practical security experience: MFA, Conditional Access, Defender, policy writing, incident response.
• Comfortable with networking basics, NAS, backups and remote-access tools.
• Clear spoken and written English, with clear written documentation.
• Self-managing and proactive. You tell us what is wrong before we find out.

Good to have

• MS-102, MD-102, SC-300, AZ-104 or CompTIA Security+.
• Cloudflare Zero Trust or Tailscale, UniFi, Synology / UGREEN NAS.
• Prior remote work for a company in another country.

• RM 6,000 - 9,000 per month, 13th-month pay and a performance bonus.
