About the role

We are looking for an IT Application Development Manager to manage a team developing and improving internal business systems such as ERP, HR, Finance, Procurement, and Back-office Workflow. This role applies Modern Software Development and AI-Native Development approaches to increase delivery speed, elevate system quality, and improve team efficiency.

The position holder is responsible for overall management from receiving and prioritizing business unit requirements, planning and controlling delivery, managing team and resources, to overseeing the use of AI Coding Assistant and AI Agent in the software development process.

This role must effectively bridge business needs with development team delivery, particularly by reducing bottlenecks between Business Analysis, Development, Testing, and Deployment, enabling the team to deliver systems faster without compromising quality, security, and business process accuracy.

Key responsibilities

• Define development and improvement plans for Enterprise Applications aligned with business objectives and organizational IT strategy
• Manage and prioritize system development requests from various departments such as Finance, HR, Procurement, and Operations
• Assess Business Value, Urgency, Risk, Effort, and Resource Requirements to support work selection decisions
• Manage Application Development Backlog and establish clear processes for request intake, assessment, approval, and delivery
• Work with Business Owners and Key Users to ensure business requirements are confirmed before development begins
• Establish guidelines for managing Scope and Change Requests to control impact on delivery schedules and team resources
• Prioritize work between Business Features, Production Issues, Technical Debt, and system improvement initiatives
• Plan and control project schedules, delivery dates, resources, budgets, and risks for system development projects
• Oversee team delivery against agreed targets for time, quality, and scope
• Track progress from Requirement Analysis through Production Deployment
• Analyze process bottlenecks such as requirement delays, business owner decision delays, testing delays, and rework cycles
• Improve workflows across BA, Developer, QA, and DevOps to increase Throughput and reduce Waiting Time
• Manage expectations and communicate project status, risks, and issues requiring decisions to management
• Develop contingency plans for risks, scope changes, and issues that may impact delivery
• Establish delivery criteria and track results after system go-live
• Define appropriate Requirement Management processes suited to the speed of AI-assisted development teams
• Oversee Business Analysts in preparing clear and verifiable Business Processes, User Stories, Business Rules, and Acceptance Criteria
• Promote the use of AI to assist with document analysis, meeting summaries, Requirement drafts, and identifying open issues
• Define Definition of Ready and Definition of Done appropriate to work type and risk level
• Create Parallel Discovery and Delivery workflows so BAs prepare next-phase work while Developers work on ready items
• Establish Business Owner decision channels and timelines to reduce information delays and rework cycles
• Clarify responsibility separation between work prioritization, Requirement analysis, and business rule approval
• Plan the adoption of AI Coding Assistant and AI Agent in the software development process
• Identify Use Cases where AI can genuinely improve efficiency, such as Requirement Analysis, Code Generation, Test Generation, Code Review Assistance, Documentation, and Incident Analysis
• Encourage the team to use AI Agent for multi-step work within appropriate scope and oversight
• Define AI Usage Policy, Access Control, Human Approval, Audit Logging, and guidelines to prevent corporate data exposure
• Work with Tech Lead to assess the suitability of AI Tools, AI Platforms, and Automation Frameworks
• Monitor AI Adoption, Productivity Improvement, Quality, Rework, and AI usage costs
• Evaluate AI results based on work meeting quality standards, not code line count or AI-generated work volume
• Promote continuous knowledge sharing and AI skill development across the team
• Manage a team of approximately 8–10 people covering Business Analyst, Tech Lead, Developer, QA, and Platform / DevOps roles
• Clearly define roles, responsibilities, and work objectives for each position
• Plan staffing, work allocation, and skill development aligned with workload and technology direction
• Develop team capabilities in Software Development, Business Analysis, Quality Engineering, and AI-Assisted Development
• Foster a collaborative work culture, data-driven problem-solving, and continuous process improvement
• Assess performance, provide feedback, and establish individual development plans
• Reduce dependency on individuals by promoting Documentation, Knowledge Sharing, and collaborative working standards
• Oversee system development compliance with organizational standards for Security, Data Protection, Software Quality, and IT Governance
• Work with Tech Lead, QA, and DevOps to ensure appropriate Code Review, Automated Testing, CI/CD, and Release Controls
• Monitor Production Defects, Incident Trends, Technical Debt, and system risks
• Ensure systems involving Finance, HR, and Approval Workflows have Access Control, Audit Trail, and retrospective review as needed
• Assess risks from AI Agent use that can read data, invoke tools, or modify business system data
• Define Escalation and Incident Management guidelines for business-impacting issues
• Prepare team performance reports and efficiency improvement plans for management

About you

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
• At least 8 years of experience in Software Development, Application Development, or Enterprise Systems
• At least 3 years of experience managing software development teams or IT project management
• Experience managing development of Web Applications, Enterprise Applications, ERP, Workflow, or internal business systems
• Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle, Agile / Scrum / Kanban, and Project Delivery Management
• Understanding of Requirement Management, Business Analysis, Software Architecture, Testing, and Deployment
• Experience managing Scope, Timeline, Resource Allocation, Risk, and Stakeholder Expectations
• Understanding of AI Coding Assistant or AI Agent use in software development processes, and ability to assess benefits, limitations, and risks
• Understanding of Application Security, Data Protection, Access Control, and IT Governance
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills with management and business units
• Ability to translate business objectives into clear, measurable action plans
