IT Application Engineer

About the role

Hoya Lamphun Ltd. is seeking an IT Application Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis based in Lamphun or Chon Buri. This role is integral to our operations, providing critical support for the design, development, and maintenance of software applications that drive our business efficiency and innovation. As an IT Application Engineer, you will bridge the gap between business requirements and technical solutions, ensuring that our applications meet operational needs whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality and performance. This position offers the opportunity to work with modern technologies whilst contributing directly to the strategic objectives of Hoya Lamphun Ltd.

What you'll be doing

• Designing and developing software applications tailored to meet specific business requirements and operational needs
• Analysing, troubleshooting and resolving application issues to minimise downtime and maintain system reliability
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams including business analysts, system administrators and stakeholders to understand requirements and implement effective solutions
• Conducting testing and quality assurance on applications prior to deployment to production environments
• Maintaining comprehensive technical documentation for applications, including architecture diagrams, user guides and system specifications
• Providing technical support and training to end-users on application functionality and best practices
• Monitoring application performance and recommending optimisations to enhance speed, scalability and reliability
• Maintaining and upgrading existing applications to ensure compatibility with current systems and technology standards
• Participating in code reviews and contributing to the continuous improvement of development practices within the team

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT manufacturing applications, MES, or digital manufacturing solutions in a regulated manufacturing environment.

• Fluent in the English language

• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, C++ or similar modern languages

• Proven experience as a Manufacturing Applications Engineer, MES Engineer, Smart Factory Engineer, or similar IT role supporting production and quality operations.

• Strong understanding of MES concepts, manufacturing application lifecycle, production traceability, electronic records, and system integration principles.

• Equipment connectivity & automated data collection (e.g MQTT, OPC-UA & API)

• OT-IT Collaboration

• Knowledge of application configuration, database concepts, APIs, interface troubleshooting, and low-code or no-code manufacturing application development;  specific programming experience is an advantage.

• Hands-on knowledge of Tulip MES or comparable MES platforms; including MES and ERP integration scenarios.

• Experience with computer system validation, GxP or medical device manufacturing requirements, risk-based change assessment, requirements traceability, testing evidence, and release documentation is an advantage.

• Ability to work effectively across IT, Manufacturing, Operations Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and external technology partners to deliver practical, compliant, and supportable solutions.

• Positive thinking, able to self-starter, willing to learn new things, and flexible to changes.

• Proficiency in relevant technologies and tools.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Effective communication and collaboration skills.

• Experience in Pharmaceutical or Medical Device Manufacturing GMP applications is an advantage.
