Application Manager/ Technical Application Operations Specialist (m/f/d)

Location: Prague | Hybrid

We are a team of experts with a clear focus on delivering reliable IT services and driving continuous improvement for our customers. Our teams are spread across various locations in Europe and support global enterprise customers in complex IT environments.

For one of our international customers, we are looking for an Application Administrator / Application Operations Specialist to take ownership of the day-to-day administration and operational support of business-critical applications.

This is a hands-on operational role with a strong focus on application administration, incident resolution, technical troubleshooting, testing, documentation and stable operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support business-critical enterprise applications in daily operations
• Take ownership of incidents and service requests within the assigned application scope and ensure timely resolution
• Troubleshoot technical issues across application, database and operating system layers
• Analyze application, database and system logs and contribute to root cause analysis
• Coordinate incident resolution with infrastructure, database, development and vendor teams
• Participate actively in technical troubleshooting calls and vendor discussions
• Configure applications based on vendor documentation and operational requirements
• Monitor application health, performance and availability using monitoring tools
• Administer UAT environments and support system testing and User Acceptance Testing
• Plan, coordinate, execute and document releases, software updates and technical changes
• Maintain technical, operational and compliance-related documentation
• Support audit and compliance activities by preparing relevant documentation and system evidence
• Ensure operational procedures and knowledge base content remain up to date
• Identify recurring issues and contribute to continuous improvement of application operations and IT service processes

Technical Environment

The application environment includes technologies such as:

• Apache Tomcat and Java-based application environments
• MySQL 8
• Windows Server 2019
• Microsoft Azure
• Dynatrace or comparable monitoring tools
• SSL certificates
• SAML configuration
• Keystore management
• Application, Java and database updates
• Quality Center and Azure DevOps
• SaaS applications
• AWS S3
• JavaScript-based reporting components

You should be comfortable investigating technical issues across several of these components and coordinating the relevant teams where required.

Skills and Experience

Must-have

• Professional experience in application administration, application operations or technical support
• Proven ability to independently investigate and troubleshoot incidents across application, database and operating system layers
• Hands-on experience with MySQL, Windows Server and Apache Tomcat
• Ability to read, understand and create basic SQL queries for operational troubleshooting and data analysis
• Experience with monitoring or observability tools such as Dynatrace or comparable solutions
• Basic understanding of networking concepts and connectivity troubleshooting
• Experience supporting UAT environments and testing activities
• Experience creating and maintaining technical, operational or compliance-related documentation
• Strong technical understanding and structured problem-solving skills
• Ability to independently own operational tasks and follow incidents through to resolution
• Confidence working with vendors and coordinating activities across multiple technical teams
• Fluent written and spoken English

Good-to-have

Experience with the following is an advantage:

• Quality Center and/or Azure DevOps
• Basic JavaScript knowledge
• Microsoft Azure
• SSL certificates, SAML or authentication-related configuration
• AWS S3
• ITIL-based Incident, Problem, Change and Service Request Management
• Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven enterprise environments

This is not a software development or architecture position. The role is focused on reliable application operations, technical troubleshooting and operational ownership in a complex enterprise environment.
