IT Architect – Payment Card Systems (Ref: 198168)

Overview

An established financial services technology company is looking for an IT Architect to design and develop the architecture behind its payment card production systems. This role focuses on building secure, scalable and reliable applications within a complex, business-critical environment.

Location: Stuttgart / Berlin / Munich / Frankfurt

Working Model: Hybrid / flexible

Key Responsibilities

• Design and evolve system and application architectures for payment card platforms.
• Oversee the architecture of core applications and ensure seamless integration across systems.
• Evaluate technical solutions using Java, Spring Boot, XML and Gradle.
• Collaborate with development, operations, security teams and external partners.
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance, standardisation and automation.
• Contribute to architecture reviews, security assessments and technical decision-making.

Requirements

• Strong software development experience with Java, Spring Boot, XML and Gradle.
• Proven experience designing system and application architectures in complex environments.
• Understanding of distributed systems, APIs, interfaces and system integrations.
• Analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
• A strong focus on quality, security and reliability in business-critical systems.

Preferred Experience

• Knowledge of payment systems, card processing or card personalisation.
• Experience working in agile development teams.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform or other cloud environments.
• Knowledge of OWASP standards and secure software architecture.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure or deployment automation.
