IT Business Analyst

Duties

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements for various IT projects.
• Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and deliverables using project management best practices.
• Design and optimize database structures, including database design and management with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and other platforms.
• Create comprehensive data visualizations and dashboards utilizing tools such as Tableau and Power BI to support strategic decision-making.
• Conduct data analysis using SQL, R, Python, VBA, Bash (Unix shell), and other scripting languages to extract insights from complex datasets.
• Facilitate the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), ensuring quality standards are met from planning through deployment.
• Use Visio and other diagramming tools to illustrate workflows, system architectures, and process improvements.
• Support ongoing system enhancements by performing analysis skills assessments and recommending innovative solutions.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst or similar role within an IT environment, with a strong understanding of SDLC processes.
• Proficiency in SQL for data querying and analysis; experience with R and Python for advanced analytics is highly desirable.
• Hands-on experience with database design principles using Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Strong knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI to create compelling reports and dashboards.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies to coordinate multiple initiatives effectively.
• Technical expertise in VBA scripting, Bash (Unix shell), and database management systems.
• Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets into actionable insights.
• Experience with Visio for process mapping and system design documentation is preferred.
• Effective communication skills to liaise between technical teams and business stakeholders seamlessly.

Pay: £42,300.00-£44,000.00 per year
