IT Business Analyst - Data/Midstream Optimization

Akkodis is seeking an IT Business Analyst - Data / Midstream Optimization for a job with a client in the oil & gas / midstream industry. The ideal candidate will bring deep industry knowledge, strong data experience, and an expert understanding of the natural gas and NGL value chain. This role will focus on locating, understanding, and connecting data while partnering with data owners, technical teams, and AI/ML professionals to support midstream optimization initiatives.

Rate Range: $48/hr up to $75/hr; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

IT Business Analyst - Data / Midstream Optimization job responsibilities include:

• Identify and track down data across multiple systems, applications, and source environments.

• Work directly with data owners to understand data availability, structure, lineage, quality, and business use.

• Support ETL, data integration, and data connectivity activities.

• Help define data requirements, source-to-target mappings, and business rules.

• Collaborate with technical teams, data teams, and AI/ML professionals on data-driven solutions.

• Translate business needs and operational requirements into clear data and technical requirements.

• Support data initiatives related to midstream operations, natural gas and NGL processes, and value-chain optimization.

• Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions and document findings, dependencies, risks, and decisions.

Desired Qualifications:

• Strong oil & gas / midstream industry experience.

• Expert understanding of the natural gas and natural gas liquids value chain.

• Experience with NG/NGL value-chain optimization is highly preferred.

• Strong data experience, including ETL, data integration, data analysis, and data mapping.

• Experience partnering with data owners and cross-functional technical or data teams.

• Experience supporting AI/ML initiatives is preferred.

• Strong business analysis, requirements-gathering, process documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.

• Ability to connect business objectives with data and technical solutions.
