IT Cloud Intern

About the role

This is an infrastructure support role assisting the Infrastructure team with IT infrastructure setup, configuration, monitoring and troubleshooting. You will support Microsoft Azure infrastructure activities, including virtual machines, virtual networks, storage and resource monitoring, under the guidance of senior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Infrastructure team with basic IT infrastructure setup, configuration, monitoring and troubleshooting
• Support Microsoft Azure infrastructure activities, including virtual machines, virtual networks, storage and resource monitoring, under the guidance of senior engineers
• Assist with network troubleshooting, including IP addressing, DNS, connectivity and basic routing concepts
• Support Windows Server and/or Linux system administration tasks
• Assist in monitoring infrastructure performance, reviewing alerts and documenting incidents
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, configuration records and troubleshooting guides
• Assist with infrastructure deployment, testing, maintenance and operational improvement activities
• Learn and follow IT security practices, access control procedures and infrastructure management standards
• Perform other infrastructure-related tasks and assignments as required by the team

About you

• Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Networking, Networking Technology, IT Infrastructure, Cloud Computing, Systems Administration or a related field
• Must be eligible for an industrial training placement with a minimum commitment of 3 months
• Basic understanding of computer networking, operating systems and IT infrastructure concepts
• Familiarity with Windows, Linux, virtual machines or networking technologies is an advantage
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms is an added advantage
• Familiarity with PowerShell, Bash, scripting or infrastructure monitoring tools is a plus
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to learn, take initiative and work collaboratively with the technical team
• Good communication skills and attention to detail
