IT DESKTOP SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

We are seeking an experienced IT Desktop Support Technician to join our support team as a Weekend Backfill Engineer.

This is a flexible, part-time opportunity suitable for an IT professional who is available to provide onsite support when weekend coverage is required.

ROLE DETAILS

Position: IT Desktop Support Technician

Location: Clonmel, Tipperary, Ireland

Work Arrangement: Onsite

Employment Type: Part-Time / On-Demand

Support: Weekend Backfill

Onsite Rate: €19 per hour

Retainer: €220

ABOUT THE POSITION

The successful candidate will provide onsite IT support during weekends when the primary engineer is unavailable or additional coverage is required.

This is not a fixed weekly position. Support requests will be raised based on business requirements, so the engineer should be comfortable working on an as-needed basis and responding to weekend support requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide onsite technical support to users.

Troubleshoot desktop, laptop, hardware, software, printer, and peripheral issues.

Diagnose basic network and connectivity problems.

Install, configure, and troubleshoot IT equipment.

Assist users with technical issues and service requests.

Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach while working onsite.

Follow established support procedures and escalation processes.

Complete assigned onsite tasks and provide service updates as required.

REQUIREMENTS

Previous experience in Desktop Support, Field Support, EUC, or a similar IT support role.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Experience supporting end users in an onsite environment.

Knowledge of Windows, desktop hardware, peripherals, printers, and basic networking.

Good communication and customer service skills.

Ability to work independently when required.

Availability for weekend assignments based on business requirements.

Ability to travel to the client site in Clonmel, Tipperary.
