IT Engineer

Job Summary:
The Network Security Engineer will be responsible for managing, maintaining, securing, and optimizing enterprise network and firewall infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls, network security policies, application identification, and infrastructure upgrades.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience managing and administering Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
• Strong understanding of converting Layer 4 firewall rules to Layer 7 policies using User-ID and App-ID.
• Experience creating and managing custom App-ID signatures.
• Hands-on experience managing the complete Palo Alto firewall infrastructure, including:
• Configuration and policy management
• Software upgrades and patches
• Security rule implementation
• Troubleshooting and performance optimization
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols, routing, switching, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network security concepts.
• Proficiency with firewalls, routers, VPNs, NAT, and security policies.
• Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing Check Point firewalls in an IaaS/cloud environment.
• Experience deploying Palo Alto firewalls in an IaaS environment.
• Experience with cloud networking and security architectures.
• Ability to use Python scripting to automate firewall and network administration tasks.
• Experience developing automation for configuration management, monitoring, reporting, or repetitive operational tasks.

Pay: $76.00 - $80.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
