IT Engineer

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and support IT infrastructure to ensure reliable and uninterrupted business and production operations.
• Support servers, virtualization, network infrastructure, end-user devices, plant-floor IT equipment, and related IT systems.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and user issues, providing timely technical support and escalation where required.
• Maintain IT security, access controls, system updates, and compliance with established IT policies and standards.
• Manage user accounts, IT assets, hardware, software, licenses, and related lifecycle records.
• Support backup, recovery, system availability, and business continuity activities.
• Participate in infrastructure upgrades, technology deployments, maintenance activities, and improvement projects.
• Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and internal teams for infrastructure support and implementation.
• Maintain accurate IT documentation, configurations, procedures, inventory records, and operational guidelines.
• Support infrastructure changes and incidents with minimal impact to business and production operations.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, system administration, or network support. Manufacturing or production IT experience will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and basic Linux administration.
• Hands-on experience with VMware ESXi/vCenter, H3C networking, FortiGate firewall, and Veeam Backup.
• Knowledge of Dell/HPE servers, Lenovo SAN, Synology NAS, and infrastructure monitoring.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity, backup/recovery, IT asset management, and lifecycle support.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and coordination skills.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities in business and production environments.
• Relevant IT infrastructure certifications will be an added advantage.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin proficiency will be an added advantage.
