POSITION INFO: About the Role Our client is seeking a skilled IT Field Service Technician to provide high-level on-site technical support and hardware management. You will be responsible for ensuring that computer systems, networks, and peripheral equipment function at peak efficiency while delivering exceptional service to a diverse range of clients. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive professional with strong problem-solving skills to manage complex IT environments across the region. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware components including servers, workstations, routers, switches, and peripheral devices. Deploy and update software applications and various operating systems. Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues on-site, responding promptly to service requests and user queries. Set up and maintain LAN/WAN configurations, ensuring optimal network connectivity and performance. Maintain comprehensive documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, site credentials, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Collaborate with internal IT teams, including system administrators and security professionals, to implement upgrades and resolve critical issues. Perform rigorous testing and quality assurance checks to ensure systems meet performance and security standards. Provide mentorship, guidance, and training to junior engineers within the team. Manage emergency responses to critical system failures or network outages as required. Requirements Minimum Grade 12 Qualification. A Diploma or Bachelor''s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related Engineering field is highly advantageous. 2-5 years of hands-on experience in IT support, field service, or technical roles. 2-5 years of specific experience within the office automation industry. Proven expertise in on-site hardware/software installation and network troubleshooting. Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems. Physical ability to lift and move equipment (up to 25kg) and perform manual hardware tasks. Valid Driver's License is essential. Willingness to travel frequently to customer sites and participate in an on-call rotation. What's on Offer Competitive monthly salary of R25,000.
