IT Functional Analyst - Insurance

Our client, an insurance company, is responsible of the delivery of a challenging business roadmap over the next years. Therefore, we are looking to reinforce our team with several talented IT specialists. The candidate will be part of a dynamic IT Department of around 100 persons with multiple teams and with E2E responsibilities. This department is responsible for all software developments of insurance related applications. The applications are developed based on a Microfocus mainframe emulator in Windows (programming language Cobol/Mix Cobol+.NET), with various technologies used on the frontend (.Net, CRM), printing, Integration and communication side.

• 2–5 years of experience as an IT Functional Analyst, ideally within a large enterprise environment.

• Strong experience gathering and analyzing business requirements and translating them into functional specifications.

• Proven ability to act as the interface between Business stakeholders and IT teams, ensuring business needs are accurately translated into IT solutions.

• Experience preparing functional designs, supporting technical design and coordinating implementation activities.

• Strong background in Functional Integration Testing (FIT), UAT preparation, test case definition and defect management.

• Experience coordinating with developers, technical analysts and project managers throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

• Exposure to multi-tier / multi-layer applications and enterprise information systems. Knowledge of SQL is a plus.

• Experience within the Non-Life Insurance sector, ideally in Underwriting (Claims experience is a plus).

• Familiarity with Agile delivery; knowledge of Prince2, TMAP or technical analysis is considered an advantage.

• Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.

• Client-oriented professional with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Able to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.

• Methodical, structured, proactive and results-driven, with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.

• Fluent in French or Dutch (one language mandatory at fluent level), with a good command of English.
