IT Infrastructure Lead

We are supporting a client to highlight an experienced IT Infrastructure Lead to take ownership of its infrastructure and workplace technology environment.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to the technology, thrives on variety and wants the freedom to make a real difference.

They are not looking for someone to manages suppliers, oversees engineers or delegates technical work. They are looking for someone who has personally designed, built, maintained and improved IT environments and still enjoys doing so.

The opportunity

Working closely with the technology leadership team, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining a secure, reliable and effective IT infrastructure.

Your responsibilities will span:

• Designing, implementing and maintaining IT infrastructure, networks and workplace technology.
• Managing Microsoft environments, including Entra ID, Intune, Active Directory, Windows Server and Microsoft Configuration Manager.
• Configuring and supporting Cisco switches, Meraki networks and Wi-Fi infrastructure.
• Supporting a mixed technology environment including Windows, macOS, Google Workspace, Slack and Zoom.
• Leading infrastructure projects, including office build-outs, technology implementations and system improvements.
• Supporting meeting-room technology, audio-visual systems and video conferencing.
• Developing monitoring and alerting solutions to improve infrastructure reliability.
• Providing practical, hands-on technical support to colleagues when required.

Who they are looking for

Ideally bring around 7–10+ years of IT experience, with a strong background in infrastructure engineering, systems administration and technical support.

Ideally, you will have:

• Deep, hands-on experience across Microsoft infrastructure and endpoint management.
• Strong networking knowledge, particularly Cisco and Meraki.
• Experience designing and building infrastructure rather than simply maintaining it.
• A track record of delivering substantial technical projects with limited resources.
• Broad exposure to modern workplace technologies, device management and collaboration platforms.
• The ability to operate independently, while working effectively within a small team.
• Experience with Prometheus/Grafana monitoring, AV/VC environments or office infrastructure projects would be particularly valuable.
