IT Intern (Cybersecurity)

What applies to you

In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in how a business aligns its IT and security goals with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. You will support the team in identifying security risks, maintaining corporate policies, and gathering evidence for internal and external audits.

What you will do

• Assist in drafting, reviewing, and updating information security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Support the rollout of security awareness training and phishing simulation campaigns for employees.
• Assist in conducting third-party vendor risk assessments by reviewing security questionnaires and documentation.
• Participate in internal risk discussions and assist in drafting risk mitigation plans.
• Collaborate with teams to collect, organize, and validate audit artifacts/evidence.
• Assist in readiness assessments for industry frameworks.
• To perform any other responsibilities and duties as assigned and when required by Chief System and Security Officer in order to meet operational and/or other requirements.

What you will learn

• Practical experience in running an enterprise security and compliance program.
• How to evaluate and interpret technical audit evidence (system logs, configuration screenshots, access matrices).
• Direct mentorship from experienced cybersecurity and risk management professionals.

What you will need

• Candidate must possess or currently pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Technology, Computer Science or equivalent
• Ability to commit at least 4 to 6 months
• Basic understanding of data security, cybersecurity, security architecture, InfoSec governance, or network security will be an added advantage.
• Awareness of current cybersecurity trends and developments is an added advantage.
• Possess own transportation and be willing to work in Serdang, Selangor
