IT Manager

About the role

As an IT Manager, you will manage and maintain IT systems, networks, and software, ensuring smooth operations. Responsibilities include troubleshooting hardware/software issues, supporting educational platforms, managing servers, security, and providing tech support for staff and events.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve computer malfunctions (e.g., hard disk failure, OS corruption, etc.). Provide solutions such as OS reinstallation, hardware replacements, or upgrades.
• Oversee maintenance and repairs of approximately 100 projectors in use (e.g., issues like no display, HDMI connector issues, poor quality).
• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain printers, including cartridge refills and addressing printing errors.
• Install and troubleshoot Smart TVs in classrooms and office spaces.
• Setup, configure, and troubleshoot IP phones (e.g., Mitel phones), including licensing, wiring, and network integration.
• Setup and maintain network switches and hubs for LAN connections across offices. Troubleshoot connectivity issues.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Wi-Fi networks, addressing issues like slow connections and signal strength.
• Ensure proper functioning of servers for IP phone systems, authentication (Active Directory), and file sharing. Perform routine checks for performance, security, and updates.
• Administer and monitor firewall rules to secure the network, block unauthorized access, and ensure appropriate filtering.
• Provide technical support for events in the auditorium, including setting up microphones, sound systems, projectors, and troubleshooting any tech issues during events.

About you

• Proven experience in IT management, network administration, and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of various software platforms used in educational environments (e.g., PowerSchool, Google Workspace, NWEA, IXL, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with hardware (projectors, printers, servers, UPS, CCTV, etc.).
• Familiarity with IP phones, LAN networks, and firewall configurations.
• Excellent communication skills to support both technical staff and end users.
