What they need
About the Company
This successful, privately owned Kiwi business has a strong reputation in supplying specialist products, technical expertise, and support services to critical infrastructure and industrial sectors. With operations spanning multiple locations, a growing footprint and a collaborative, people-focused culture, the business continues to invest heavily in technology to support growth, innovation, and operational excellence.
Technology plays a pivotal role in the organisation's ongoing success, and they are seeking an experienced IT Manager to take ownership of their business-critical applications, systems, reporting platforms, and technology environment.
The Role
This is a rare opportunity to join a well-established organisation in a broad and highly visible IT leadership role. Reporting directly into senior leadership, you will act as the primary internal technology expert, ensuring the stability, security, and continuous improvement of the company's systems and applications.
This position offers a blend of strategic planning and hands-on technical involvement. You'll work closely with business stakeholders across all departments while managing relationships with external technology providers and vendors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and enhancing the organisation's existing ERP platform, business applications, databases, integrations, and reporting solutions.
- Acting as the primary escalation point for technology-related issues and system support.
- Partnering with managed service providers to ensure infrastructure, security, and service delivery requirements are met.
- Supporting and optimising business-critical systems, workflows, and processes.
- Supporting Business Intelligence platforms, dashboards, reporting, and analytics initiatives.
- Maintaining and improving internally developed applications and reducing key-person dependency through documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives, automation opportunities, and technology enhancements.
- Working closely with senior leadership to align technology initiatives with business objectives.
- Assisting with technology planning, budgeting, vendor management, and future technology strategy.
Your Profile
We're looking for a well-rounded technology professional who enjoys being close to the business, solving complex problems, and delivering practical technology outcomes.
You will bring:
- Previous experience as an IT Manager, Applications Manager, Technical Lead, or similar senior technology role.
- Strong experience supporting business-critical applications and operational systems.
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft technologies and Windows-based environments.
- Experience supporting ERP platforms, ideally NetSuite or a comparable enterprise solution.
- Experience working with managed service providers, technology vendors, and external delivery partners.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- The ability to balance operational support with strategic improvement initiatives.
- A proactive, hands-on approach and willingness to take ownership of outcomes.
Ideally, you will also have experience with:
- NetSuite administration and support.
- Qlik Cloud, or similar BI and reporting platforms.
- SQL and database management.
- Distribution, manufacturing, logistics, utilities, or industrial sector environments.
Benefits
- Join a stable, successful, and growing organisation with a strong market presence.
- Broad role spanning applications, Infrastructure, Security, ERP, reporting, databases, vendors, and technology strategy.
- Supportive and down-to-earth culture with long-tenured employees and strong values.
- Opportunity to drive meaningful business improvements and technology transformation initiatives.
- Diverse and engaging environment where no two days are the same.
- Competitive salary package and long-term career opportunities.
If you're a hands-on IT leader who enjoys working closely with the business, improving systems, and delivering practical technology solutions that make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you.
