PTOE Global Solutions (PGS)
About PTOE Global Solutions
PTOE Global Solutions (PGS) is a solutions-focused company that helps businesses, organizations, and entrepreneurs turn ideas, challenges, and opportunities into practical outcomes.
We work across technology, digital solutions, business operations, growth, content, and other areas to help our clients move their businesses forward.
As we continues to grow, we are looking for an IT Manager who can take ownership of our internal technology environment and help us build a secure, reliable, scalable technology foundation for our team and the businesses we support.
The Role
The IT Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management and continuous improvement of PGS's technology environment.
This is not simply a technical support role.
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of IT, identify risks and gaps before they become problems, establish standards and processes, manage technology platforms, troubleshoot issues, and ensure that our team has the systems and tools needed to work effectively.
You will work closely with leadership, project managers, developers, designers, and other team members. Depending on the project, you may also help assess or support technology environments for clients.
The right person will be comfortable moving between strategy and execution able to recommend the right solution, document how it should work, and roll up their sleeves to implement or troubleshoot it.
Key Responsibilities
1. IT Operations & Systems Management
- Own the day-to-day management of PGS's internal technology environment.
- Manage business technology platforms, accounts, permissions, access, and configurations.
- Maintain visibility into the systems and applications being used across the organization.
- Ensure systems are reliable, properly configured, documented, and fit for purpose.
- Identify outdated, duplicated, unnecessary, or poorly configured technology and recommend improvements.
- Develop standards for how technology should be selected, implemented, managed, and retired.
2. Microsoft 365, Google Workspace & SaaS Administration
- Administer platforms such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, collaboration tools, cloud storage, and other SaaS applications.
- Manage users, groups, licenses, permissions, shared resources, and security settings.
- Establish appropriate access controls and ensure business information remains within company-managed systems.
- Review software subscriptions and licenses to improve utilization and control costs.
3. Cybersecurity & Access Management
- Establish and maintain practical cybersecurity standards for PGS.
- Implement and manage multi-factor authentication, password policies, access controls, and other security measures.
- Regularly review user access and permissions.
- Identify technology and cybersecurity risks and recommend appropriate mitigation.
- Manage secure onboarding, role changes, and access removal when team members leave projects or the organization.
- Help build awareness across the team around cybersecurity and responsible technology use.
4. IT Support & Problem Solving
- Serve as the escalation point for technical issues that cannot be resolved by team members.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, account, access, networking, and application issues.
- Investigate recurring problems and address their root causes instead of repeatedly applying temporary fixes.
- Create documentation and self-service guidance for common issues.
- Help establish an efficient support and escalation process as PGS grows.
5. Technology Projects
- Lead or support internal technology initiatives from planning through implementation.
- Evaluate technology solutions and make recommendations based on business requirements, cost, security, scalability, and ease of management.
- Coordinate implementations, migrations, configurations, integrations, and upgrades.
- Work with developers, project managers, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
- Test solutions and confirm that business and technical requirements have been met.
6. Infrastructure & Cloud
- Manage or coordinate cloud infrastructure, hosting, domains, DNS, SSL certificates, backups, and related services.
- Maintain awareness of the technology architecture supporting PGS websites, applications, and business systems.
- Ensure appropriate monitoring, backup, recovery, and continuity practices are in place.
- Work with development resources when deeper application or infrastructure expertise is required.
7. Documentation & IT Governance
- Build and maintain an inventory of systems, applications, accounts, licenses, domains, vendors, and technology assets.
- Maintain technical documentation, configuration information, procedures, and recovery information.
- Create repeatable IT processes rather than relying on individual knowledge.
- Establish clear ownership for technology systems.
- Develop practical IT policies and standards appropriate for a growing organization.
8. Vendor & Technology Management
- Evaluate technology providers and vendors.
- Coordinate with external service providers when specialized expertise is required.
- Review technology costs and identify opportunities to improve value.
- Ensure vendors and platforms meet PGS's operational and security requirements.
9. Client Technology Support
Where appropriate, the IT Manager may also:
- Assess a client's existing technology environment.
- Identify technology risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Recommend practical solutions aligned with the client's business needs.
- Support the implementation of managed email, collaboration, cloud, security, and other business technology solutions.
- Work with PGS project and solution leads to translate business requirements into appropriate technology solutions.
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is naturally curious, organized, technically capable, and takes ownership.
You should be the type of person who sees something that could become a problem and investigates it before being asked.
You should also be comfortable saying:
"Here's what I found, here's the risk, and here's what I recommend we do about it." rather than simply waiting for instructions.
Competencies & Qualifications:
- Previous experience with responsibility for an organization's IT environment is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and/or Google Workspace administration.
- Experience managing user accounts, permissions, authentication, and security.
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals and best practices.
- Understanding of domains, DNS, email configuration, SSL certificates, hosting, and web infrastructure.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and services.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Experience creating technical documentation, procedures, and standards.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, IT support, infrastructure, or a related technology role.
Preferred candidate profile
Experience in some of the following would be considered an asset:
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Cybersecurity tools and vulnerability management
- IT service management or ticketing systems
- Working with distributed or remote teams
- Supporting small and medium-sized businesses
- Managing technology vendors and outsourced development resources
Relevant technical certifications are valued but are not a substitute for demonstrated experience, problem-solving ability, and ownership.

- Tell us about an IT environment you were responsible for managing. What were you personally accountable for?

- What Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, cloud, security, and infrastructure technologies have you personally administered?
- Tell us about a technology recommendation you made that management initially had not considered. What was the outcome?
We are more interested in understanding how you think, solve problems, and take ownership than receiving generic or AI-generated responses.
