What they need

IT Manager - Systems, Infrastructure & Technology (Full-Time Permanent)

Bibra Lake WA | Hands-On Technology Leadership | Standalone IT Function

Schnits Frozen Foods is a well-established, family-owned food manufacturing business based in Bibra Lake. We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded It Manager to establish and lead our internal information technology capability.

This is a rare opportunity for a mature technology professional who can set direction while remaining genuinely hands-on. Initially operating as a one-person IT function, you will bring day-to-day support and systems ownership in-house and build the foundations for our longer-term technology strategy.

About the role

Reporting to the General Manager, you will review the current outsourced environment and lead a staged transition to internal IT support. You will personally resolve day-to-day issues, administer core systems and manage vendors, while progressively strengthening infrastructure, cybersecurity, resilience, data and technology planning across the business.

Key responsibilities

  • Review outsourced IT services, contracts, access, documentation and recurring support issues.
  • Develop and implement a staged transition of day-to-day IT support and administration in-house.
  • Provide responsive support across users, devices, printers, connectivity, Microsoft 365, shared drives and business applications.
  • Manage user onboarding, offboarding, permissions, equipment, licensing and IT asset records.
  • Maintain networks, cloud services, telephony, endpoints and business-critical systems.
  • Manage technology vendors, contracts, procurement, licensing and service performance.
  • Strengthen cybersecurity controls, backups, disaster recovery, incident response and business continuity.
  • Develop a pragmatic technology roadmap aligned with business growth and operational needs.
  • Lead systems, integration, automation and technology-improvement projects.
  • Provide clear advice and reporting to leadership on technology risk, investment and priorities.

About you

  • Minimum seven years' broad experience across IT support, systems administration, infrastructure, Microsoft 365, cybersecurity and business systems.
  • At least three years' experience in a senior role with broad responsibility for an organisation's IT environment or technology portfolio.
  • Strong hands-on troubleshooting capability and willingness to personally deliver day-to-day support.
  • Experience transitioning services from an MSP to an internal model.
  • Experience working autonomously in a standalone or small-team environment.
  • Experience managing vendors, contracts, licensing, cybersecurity and business-continuity arrangements.
  • Strong project delivery, documentation, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Relevant tertiary IT qualification or equivalent substantial experience.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, FMCG, warehousing or multisite operations (desirable).
  • Microsoft, cloud, networking, cybersecurity, ITIL or project-management certification (desirable).

Why Join Schnitz Frozen Foods?

  • Newly created role with genuine ownership and executive visibility.
  • Opportunity to shape both immediate service delivery and longer-term technology strategy.
  • Broad and varied remit across support, infrastructure, systems and cybersecurity.
  • Stable and growing WA family-owned business.
  • Convenient Bibra Lake location with on-site parking.

How to Apply

If you are an experienced technology leader who is equally comfortable setting strategy and solving day-to-day issues, we would love to hear from you.

Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your suitability.

Applicants must have unrestricted Australian working rights. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
