About the job:
As a System & Network Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, deploying, and operating the network and systems infrastructure of our Fintech organization. You are responsible for ensuring our systems are stable, secure, high-performing, and scalable—while also contributing to the technical community by leading projects and mentoring peers. This role demands strong technical acumen, hands-on Fintech experience, and a proactive, self-driven approach.
Role Description
1. Infrastructure Design & Management (50%)
- Deploy, configure, and maintain network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and related services).
- Manage both physical and virtual server environments (Linux, Windows Server, VMware/Hyper-V), as well as storage systems, backup solutions, and disaster recovery.
- Monitor system and network performance, apply patches and updates, and conduct capacity planning to support infrastructure growth.
2. Operations & Incident Management (20%)
- Investigate and resolve infrastructure incidents with long-term solutions.
- Maintain high system availability as per SLA requirements, ensuring low-latency operation suitable for a Fintech environment.
- Implement proactive monitoring and alerting systems.
3. Security & Automation (20%)
- Deploy and enforce security mechanisms, including access controls, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
- Automate routine operational tasks using scripting (Python, Bash) and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
4. Project Leadership & Mentoring (10%)
- Lead infrastructure projects such as system expansions, upgrades, or data center rollouts.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers, standardize documentation and processes, and develop incident response playbooks.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in similar roles, with preference for candidates from Fintech or high-volume transactional environments.
Technical Skills
- Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewall/VPN setup, operating systems (Linux/Windows), and virtualization.
- Experience with high availability systems, network security, backup restoration, and performance monitoring.
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash) and familiarity with automation and IaC tools.
- Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP or LPIC are highly valued.
Soft Skills & Language
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive under high-pressure conditions.
- Excellent communication capabilities—able to liaise effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Fluency in reading technical documentation in English is a significant advantage.
Nice to Have
- Experience in PCI-DSS environments, distributed network setups, or Paytech systems.
