A reputable architectural firm based in Victoria Island is seeking a skilled and proactive IT Officer to manage its IT infrastructure, support staff across design and administrative teams, and ensure smooth day-to-day technology operations.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, networks, and peripherals (workstations, printers, plotters, servers)
• Provide first-line technical support to staff, resolving hardware, software, and network issues promptly
• Manage and troubleshoot design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite) and ensure licenses are up to date
• Maintain office network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, routers, and firewalls
• Set up and manage data backup systems and ensure data security/integrity
• Manage user accounts, access permissions, and cybersecurity protocols
• Coordinate with external vendors for hardware/software procurement and repairs
• Maintain an inventory of IT equipment and recommend upgrades as needed
• Provide support for virtual meetings, presentations, and file-sharing systems
• Document IT processes and maintain a helpdesk log of issues and resolutions

Requirements:

• HND in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 2–4 years’ experience in an IT support/officer role (experience in an architecture, engineering, or design firm is an advantage)
• Strong knowledge of Windows/Mac OS, networking, and general troubleshooting
• Familiarity with design/CAD software environments is a strong plus
• Good understanding of cybersecurity best practices
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Relevant certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA, etc.) are an added advantage
