What they need

About Us

The Accounting and Financial Reporting Council (AFRC) is the independent regulator of the accounting profession in Hong Kong established under the AFRC Ordinance (Cap. 588). As an independent regulator, we spearhead and lead the accounting profession to constantly raise the level of quality of professional accountants, and thus protect the public interest. This pivotal role not only enhances the quality of financial reporting but in turn reinforces our pursuit of promoting the healthy development of the profession and Hong Kong’s position as a competitive international financial centre.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line (Tier 1) application support for the organisation's enterprise systems, triaging and resolving common issues and escalating to the System Analyst or vendors where deeper investigation is required.
  • Perform user and device lifecycle administration in on-premises Active Directory and Microsoft 365 / Entra ID — account joiner/mover/leaver, group and permission management, mailbox and shared-mailbox setup, and device enrolment via Intune / MDM.
  • Support day-to-day Microsoft 365 operations — Exchange Online, SharePoint Online and on-premises, OneDrive, Teams and Teams Phone — including SharePoint site, permission and external-sharing administration.
  • Assist with data centre and infrastructure operations, supporting servers, storage, networking, Wi-Fi, firewall and backup, restore and archiving tasks, and helping with disaster-recovery (DR) and business-continuity (BCP) drills under the guidance of the infrastructure team.
  • Perform endpoint security and compliance tasks, including endpoint-protection agents, MFA, patching and device-compliance checks, in line with internal IT and security policies.
  • Provide first-line (Tier 1) desktop and end-user support across hardware, software, networking, mobile devices and peripherals, logging and resolving requests through the IT Service Desk and escalating complex cases to the appropriate team or vendor.
  • Set up and maintain end-user equipment and IT assets, including laptops, mobile devices and meeting-room / video-conferencing equipment, and keep the asset inventory accurate and up to date.
  • Handle data import, export and validation across systems, ensuring accuracy, completeness and consistency of data.
  • Prepare and maintain IT documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), user guides, asset records, support logs and knowledge-base articles.
  • Support IT operational and project tasks, such as equipment rollouts, migrations, system upgrades and audits, ensuring minimal disruption to business users.
  • Fulfil other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other related discipline.
  • At least 5 years' experience in application and desktop support, IT infrastructure or IT operations.
  • Familiarity with first-line application support and the discipline of logging, triaging and escalating issues within an IT Service Desk / ticketing environment.
  • Solid hands-on knowledge of Windows desktop and Windows Server environments, Active Directory (DNS / DHCP / Group Policy) and Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Intune).
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN) and of server, storage, backup / restore and data-centre operations.
  • Exposure to endpoint security (MFA, endpoint protection, patching, MDM/Intune) and IT security best practices.
  • Competent in data handling — data import/export, validation and strong Excel skills.
  • Strong documentation skills, able to produce clear, accurate SOPs, user guides and asset records.
  • Well-organised and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a service-oriented, proactive and collaborative attitude — comfortable working directly with users, not solely behind a screen.
  • Experience in a regulator, public-sector or financial-services environment is an advantage.

This is a renewable contract role. A competitive package will be offered to the successful candidate.
