IT Operations Engineer (Student Residence)

About the role

E.C. Fix Technology Limited is seeking an IT Operations Engineer (Student Residence) to join our growing technology team. This is a full-time position based in Kwai Chung, Kwai Tsing District. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining IT infrastructure and hardware systems that support student residence facilities. You will play a critical part in ensuring seamless technology operations, supporting both the technical infrastructure and the end-users who depend on it daily. This position offers the opportunity to work with modern hardware systems whilst developing your expertise in IT operations and infrastructure management.

What you'll be doing

• Monitor, maintain and support IT hardware infrastructure including servers, networking equipment and end-user devices across student residence facilities
• Perform regular system maintenance, updates and patches to ensure optimal performance and security of all IT systems
• Respond promptly to technical issues and troubleshoot hardware and software problems reported by residents and staff
• Manage inventory of IT hardware and equipment, including procurement, deployment and asset tracking
• Configure and manage network connectivity and ensure reliable Wi-Fi and internet access throughout student residence areas
• Provide technical support and user assistance to students and residence staff, including training on IT systems and equipment
• Document system configurations, procedures and incident logs to maintain accurate records of all IT operations
• Collaborate with other IT team members and departments to resolve complex technical issues and implement system improvements
• Ensure compliance with IT security policies and best practices across all residence technology systems

What we're looking for

• A qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Proven experience working with IT hardware, server management and network infrastructure
• Strong technical knowledge of operating systems, including Windows and Linux environments
• Experience with network management tools and monitoring systems
• Competency in troubleshooting and diagnosing hardware and software issues
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
• Strong organisational and time management abilities, particularly when handling multiple support requests
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality support
• Willingness to work flexibly, including occasional after-hours support for critical issues
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, CCNA or Microsoft Certified qualifications would be advantageous
