IT Operations Manager

Would you like to join a world-famous food manufacturing company and lead the delivery of secure, reliable and responsive IT services? We are looking for an experienced IT Operations Manager to lead our Infrastructure & Support team at Wilkin & Sons in Tiptree.

Location: Tiptree, Colchester

Salary: Up to £70,000 per annum dependant on experience

Working hours: 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday

This hands-on management role combines technical expertise with people leadership, operational service delivery and longer-term infrastructure planning. You will lead the day-to-day IT support function, ensuring colleagues across Wilkin & Sons and its associated businesses receive a reliable, responsive and professional service.

Working closely with the IT Director, you will take ownership of infrastructure operations, cybersecurity, technical projects and operational resilience. Your remit will include servers, networking, connectivity, Microsoft 365, cloud services and endpoints, along with vulnerability management, patching, access controls, security monitoring, backups and disaster recovery.

You will provide technical escalation for complex issues, identify root causes, deliver infrastructure and security improvements, manage suppliers and develop the Infrastructure & Support team.

About you:

• Proven experience in IT infrastructure, technical operations or IT service delivery
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across infrastructure technologies
• Ability to manage incidents, priorities, workloads and effective support services
• Experience delivering infrastructure or technical improvement projects
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows environments, networking and core IT infrastructure
• Good understanding of cybersecurity, identity and access management, endpoint protection and vulnerability management
• Ability to lead, mentor and develop a small technical team
