IT Project Technical Manager

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on IT Project Technical Manager to lead our dynamic engineering team. This is not just a management role; it is a leadership position for someone who loves technology, thrives on mentoring young talent, and can juggle multiple complex projects simultaneously.

You will be responsible for bridging the gap between business goals and technical execution, modernizing our workflows with AI-driven tools, and fostering a culture of continuous learning among junior staff and fresh graduates.

1. Team Leadership & Mentorship

• Lead & Inspire: Manage a cross-functional team of developers, engineers, and fresh graduates. You must genuinely enjoy working with and developing young talent.
• Coaching Culture: Conduct regular code reviews, pair programming sessions, and technical workshops to upskill junior members.
• Resource Allocation: Strategically assign tasks across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring optimal utilization of resources without burnout.
• Hiring & Onboarding: Play a key role in hiring fresh talent and onboarding them into our technical stack and culture.

2. Technical Strategy & Innovation

• AI Integration: Lead the adoption of AI Agents and AI Tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, LLM integrations) to automate workflows, improve code quality, and speed up development cycles.
• Repo Management: Oversee the Source Code Repository management process. Ensure best practices in branching strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and version control hygiene.
• Tech Evaluation: Keep abreast of the latest technology trends. Be the "sandbox" champion—not afraid to prototype and try new frameworks or tools to solve business problems.

3. Project Management & Delivery

• Project Delivery: Manage the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) for multiple implementation projects simultaneously.
• Stakeholder Management: Communicate technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders clearly and effectively.
• Agile Practices: Drive Agile/Scrum ceremonies, remove blockers, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.

Requirements & Qualifications

Essential:

• Experience: Minimum 3 years of total IT experience, with at least 1-2 years in a Management or Team Lead role.
• Leadership: Proven ability to lead a team. You must have a "servant leader" mindset—willing to roll up your sleeves to code, but also capable of delegating and trusting your team.
• People Skills: A genuine passion for coaching junior staff and fresh graduates. Patience and the ability to explain complex concepts simply.
• Project Skills: Demonstrated experience in resource planning and managing multiple concurrent project implementations.
• Tech Savvy: Strong knowledge of the latest technology landscape. You must not be afraid to experiment with new tech (POCs).

Preferable

• AI Experience: Hands-on experience with AI Agents, AI coding assistants, or integrating AI into IT workflows.
• Repo Expertise: Deep understanding of Source Code Repository management (Git Flow, GitHub/GitLab administration, PR processes).
• Technical Stack: Familiarity Python, Java, Laravel, PHP.

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
