What they need
A growing international manufacturing business is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure & Security Lead to take ownership of cyber security, IT service delivery, and infrastructure across a multi-site global operation.
This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys building and improving environments , rather than simply maintaining what's already in place. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation's security posture, driving best practice, and influencing technology strategy at a leadership level.
The Opportunity
The business is at the beginning of an exciting security maturity journey. You will inherit responsibility for:
- A recently implemented Microsoft Intune environment
- Internal IT support resources and external MSP relationships
- Security improvement initiatives across multiple international locations
- Defining and delivering a long-term cyber security roadmap
This role offers genuine autonomy and the opportunity to make a measurable impact from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the organisation's cyber security capability
- Manage IT operations, service delivery, and infrastructure performance
- Drive improvements across Microsoft 365, Intune, endpoint security and identity management
- Oversee vulnerability management, incident response and security monitoring
- Assess, select and manage third-party security and IT service providers
- Develop policies, standards and security best practices
- Manage and challenge MSP performance against agreed SLAs
- Present security risks, priorities and improvement plans to senior leadership
- Support business continuity, disaster recovery and compliance initiatives
- Lead and mentor a small internal IT team
About You
You'll be someone who enjoys taking ownership, identifying risk, and building capability from the ground up rather than inheriting a mature environment.
You may currently be working as an IT Manager, Infrastructure & Security Manager, Information Security Manager, IT Operations Manager or Head of IT, and will have a track record of improving security posture within a growing organisation.
We're particularly interested in individuals who can demonstrate experience in several of the following areas:
- Developing and delivering cyber security improvement programmes
- Enhancing Microsoft 365 and Intune security, including Conditional Access, MFA, endpoint protection and email security
- Implementing or managing SIEM, XDR, MDR or SOC solutions
- Leading incident response and vulnerability management activities
- Delivering Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus and/or ISO 27001 initiatives
- Managing third-party IT providers and holding MSPs accountable against agreed service levels
- Presenting security risks, priorities and investment plans to senior stakeholders
- Supporting and developing internal IT teams
Most importantly, you'll be someone who can assess the current environment, quickly identify priorities, and build a practical roadmap that balances security, user experience and business needs.
