What they need

IT Specialist

SunMed Growers / Tidal Creek Growers

About the role

Join SunMed Growers and Tidal Creek Growers as our IT Specialist — the person who keeps desktops, network, identity, and security tools sharp across a fast-moving, multi-site operation. You’ll own real infrastructure (UniFi, M365, Huntress, DNSFilter, Tailscale, unified communications and Zoom Rooms, a small Dell/iDRAC footprint), not ticket theater. Automation is central to the seat: we build AI and AI-driven automation into how tech ops actually runs. If you like solving problems end-to-end and want to get excellent at AI-assisted support — not just “use ChatGPT sometimes” — this is a strong seat to grow in.

What you’ll own

· Automation and AI-driven automation of routine IT work (onboarding/offboarding, ticket triage, alert handling, reporting) — using AI agents and scripting to remove repetitive tasks, not just doing them by hand

· Windows desktop / laptop support, imaging, and user onboarding/offboarding

· Microsoft Intune (including Autopilot / endpoint management)

· UniFi network management (APs, switches, gateways)

· Microsoft 365 administration (users, groups, licenses, Exchange/SharePoint/Teams hygiene)

· Huntress and DNSFilter day-to-day admin

· Small Dell server footprint (including iDRAC)

· Zoom Rooms conference-room systems

· Ticket triage and clear written updates

· Day-to-day PowerShell for admin automation

· Tailscale (secure remote access / private networking) and unified communications (UC) platforms, including VoIP/SIP basics

Must-haves

· Automation mindset: has scripted or automated IT tasks, and is comfortable using AI-driven automation to do it

· Solid Windows 10/11 desktop support experience

· Hands-on Microsoft Intune experience

· PowerShell as a primary working skill

· Hands-on M365 admin basics

· Tailscale experience (or clear ability to own it quickly)

· Unified communications (UC) experience: voice, video, and messaging platforms (including VoIP/SIP basics) and conference-room systems

· Network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, broadcast vs multicast) with UniFi experience (or clear ability to own UniFi quickly)

· Comfortable working mostly onsite

· Strong customer and technical communication skills

· Embraces AI-assisted tech ops as part of how the job gets done

Strongly preferred

· Huntress (or similar MDR/EDR) console admin

· DNSFilter or comparable DNS/web filtering

· Dell server + iDRAC

· Zoom Rooms / conference AV

Nice-to-haves

· Basic Azure

· Printers / AV

· Familiarity with an RMM tool

Details

· Full-time W-2

· Mostly onsite at SMG/TCG

· Comp: $65,000

Pay: $65,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • 401(k) matching
  • Dental insurance
  • Employee assistance program
  • Employee discount
  • Flexible spending account
  • Health insurance
  • Health savings account
  • Parental leave
  • Vision insurance

Application Question(s):

  • Walk me through setting up a new hire's laptop from box to first login, and what you do when they leave.

  • What do you handle in the M365 admin center, and tell me about the last tricky mail or permissions problem you fixed.

  • How do you use PowerShell in a typical week? Give me a script you wrote.

  • Describe a network you've managed. Have you used UniFi, and what would you check if one site's Wi-Fi kept dropping?

  • A user says "the internet is down" but they're connected to Wi-Fi. Walk me through how you'd tell whether it's a DNS problem, a DHCP problem, or something else.

  • Explain the difference between unicast, broadcast and multicast traffic, and give an example of each on an office network.

  • Why would you put guest Wi-Fi, office PCs and conference-room devices on separate VLANs or subnets, and what happens when a device on one needs to reach another?

  • Phone calls on our network have choppy audio, or one-way audio where one person can't hear the other. What is SIP, and how would you track down the cause?

  • Have you used Huntress or a similar endpoint detection tool? What do you do when it flags something?

  • What's your experience with DNS or web filtering? How would you handle a user who needs a blocked site?

  • Have you managed Dell servers? What can you do with iDRAC (Dell's remote management port)?

  • What conference-room setups have you supported, and how do you troubleshoot a room that won't start a meeting?

  • What's your experience with Tailscale, or a similar secure remote-access tool?

  • What voice, video or messaging systems have you supported, and what's a call-quality problem you fixed?

  • You have ten open tickets and a new urgent one arrives. How do you decide, and how do you update the people waiting?
