IT Staff (SAP ABAP)

About the role

The SAP ABAP Developer is responsible for developing, modifying, and maintaining custom programs in the SAP ECC 6.0 system to meet the business process requirements of a manufacturing and distribution company. This role works closely with functional consultants and business users to translate requirements into reliable technical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain custom objects (RICEFW): reports (ALV, Classical), Smartforms/SAPscript, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and workflows.
• Build enhancements using User Exits, Customer Exits, BAdIs, and the Enhancement Framework (implicit/explicit).
• Develop interfaces and integrations with external systems (e.g., third-party CRM, BI/ETL, web and mobile applications) using IDoc, BAPI, RFC, and Web Services.
• Perform data migration and uploads using BDC, LSMW, or BAPI.
• Analyze functional specifications and prepare technical specifications and technical documentation.
• Perform debugging, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of production issues.
• Perform unit testing, support integration testing and UAT, and fix defects.
• Manage transport requests in line with change management procedures (DEV, QAS, PRD) via STMS.
• Provide technical support (L2/L3) for the SAP modules in use (FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, HCM, etc).
• Comply with coding standards, security requirements, and authorization checks (AUTHORITY CHECK).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Informatics, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years as an ABAP Developer on SAP ECC 6.0.

Technical Skills (ECC 6.0)

• Proficient in Classical ABAP and ABAP Objects (OOP).
• Proficient in ABAP Dictionary, Module Pool (Dynpro), ALV (REUSE_ALV and CL_GUI_ALV_GRID), and Smartforms/SAPscript.
• Experienced with BAPI, IDoc/ALE, RFC, and BDC/LSMW.
• Understanding of Open SQL, performance optimization, and analysis tools.
• Understanding of the related SAP module business processes, especially MM, SD, PP, and FI/CO.
• Nice to have: SAP NetWeaver Gateway/OData for integration with external applications, SAP Query/InfoSet
