The Opportunity

We are recruiting an IT Support & Systems Technician on behalf of an established manufacturing business looking to strengthen its internal IT function. This is an opportunity to join a business investing in its in-house IT capabilities, providing hands-on technical support across its users, systems and IT infrastructure.

Reporting to the Group IT Manager, you will play an important role in maintaining the reliability of the organisation's IT environment, resolving technical issues and ensuring colleagues have the support they need to work effectively. The business is particularly interested in candidates with previous manufacturing experience, although this is not essential for someone with the right technical background.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day IT support to users across the business, resolving hardware, software and connectivity issues.
• Troubleshoot technical problems and manage incidents through to resolution.
• Support the maintenance and administration of IT systems, user accounts, devices and business applications.
• Assist with the installation, configuration and maintenance of desktops, laptops, peripherals and other IT equipment.
• Support network connectivity and general IT infrastructure.
• Help maintain system availability, security and reliable IT operations.
• Document technical issues, solutions and IT procedures.
• Work closely with the Group IT Manager and wider business to identify improvements to IT services and internal support processes.
• Support business systems and applications, with opportunities to contribute to wider IT improvement initiatives.

About You

• Experience in an IT Support, IT Technician, Systems Support or similar technical role.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across hardware, software and general IT systems.
• A practical, hands-on approach to technical support and issue resolution.
• Good communication skills and the ability to support users with varying levels of technical knowledge.
• The ability to work on-site and manage competing support priorities.
• Previous experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment would be advantageous.
• Exposure to Infor business systems or Microsoft Dynamics would be desirable, but is not essential.
