What they need
Like solving problems and being the person everyone turns to when technology misbehaves?
At Global Brands, we create, build and grow some of the UK’s best-loved drinks brands, including VK, HOOCH and Franklin & Sons. We also own and operate two fantastic hotels: CASA and PEAK EDGE.
Behind the brands, the hotels and the people who make it all happen is technology that needs to keep running smoothly. That’s where you come in.
We’re looking for an IT Support Assistant to join our team and support the IT Manager in keeping our systems, equipment and technology working as they should.
You’ll be helping colleagues across our drinks business and hotels – from office-based teams and remote-working employees to field-based sales staff and hotel teams. One minute you could be troubleshooting a technical issue, the next helping with a system improvement or supporting a new project.
If you’re technically minded, enjoy figuring things out and get a real buzz from helping people, this could be right up your street.
What you’ll be getting stuck into
- Keep things running: Work alongside the IT manager to help maintain the smooth operation of our IT systems, infrastructure and services.
- Solve problems: Identify, coordinate and resolve IT incidents as quickly as possible, and work with our partners looking after our help desk and servers respectively.
- Support our people: Provide helpful, responsive IT support to colleagues across Global Brands, CASA and PEAK EDGE.
- Get hands-on with technology: Help set up, configure and troubleshoot hardware, software and Microsoft systems.
- Be part of something bigger: Work alongside the IT Manager on new projects and technology improvements.
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone who enjoys getting to the bottom of a problem and finding a practical solution. You’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience in an IT support or similar technical role.
- A good understanding of hardware configuration, software setup and troubleshooting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a logical, hands-on approach.
- Great customer service and communication skills – you can explain technical issues without drowning people in jargon.
- The confidence to support a variety of colleagues, with different levels of technical knowledge.
Experience or knowledge of the following would be useful:
- Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Office.
- Microsoft Teams.
- SharePoint Online and Exchange Online administration.
- Windows 10/11.
- Ubiquiti switches, LAN/WAPs and VLANs.
- VMware and Hyper-V (advantageous).
- Hotel systems and Apple computers (advantageous).
You don’t need to know absolutely everything, but you should be keen to learn, comfortable getting hands-on and ready to take ownership of issues through to resolution.
What great looks like
- Colleagues get the support they need without unnecessary delays.
- IT issues are investigated, resolved and properly logged.
- Systems run smoothly across our offices, remote teams and hotels.
- Technical problems are explained clearly and calmly.
- You build great relationships with colleagues and become someone they can rely on.
- You support the IT Manager with projects and improvements that make a genuine difference.
- You keep learning, developing your technical skills and finding better ways to work.
Why join Global Brands?
We’re an ambitious, entrepreneurial business with a brilliant mix of drinks brands, hospitality and people – so no two days are necessarily the same.
You’ll get the chance to work across different parts of the business, build your technical experience and see the impact of your work on colleagues who rely on IT to do their jobs.
We work hard, support each other and believe in creating a positive place to work. And because we’re a drinks and hospitality business, there’s always something going on beyond the world of IT.
What’s on offer?
- Competitive salary DOE
- 25 days holiday, increasing with length of service
- Company pension
- Employee Assistance Programme with Westfield Health
- Staff discount across our hotels and range of drinks products
- Free on-site parking
- Free daily lunch
- Other benefits including long-service awards, additional holiday days, EV Car Scheme, death in service and access to our money management support service
Interested? If you’re ready to put your technical know-how to good use and help keep our business connected, we’d love to hear from you.
