IT Support Lead
Location: Chicago, IL
Job Type: Full-Time
About the Role
DECI is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking IT Support Lead to join our growing team in Chicago.
This is a broad, hands-on role with significant opportunity to shape how technology is used across the company. While providing day-to-day IT support will be an important part of the position, we are looking for someone who can take ownership of the wider IT function, identify opportunities for improvement, develop new processes and applications, and help us make smarter use of technology as the business continues to grow.
A key focus will be exploring and implementing AI tools, automation and new technologies that can improve efficiency across different areas of the business.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, communicating with teams across multiple locations and taking the lead on IT initiatives from initial idea through to implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Take a leadership role in the development and improvement of IT systems, processes and standards across the company.
- Provide hands-on IT support to employees, troubleshooting hardware, software, connectivity and access issues.
- Identify opportunities to streamline existing processes through technology, automation and improved workflows.
- Research, evaluate and implement AI tools and applications that can support business operations and improve productivity.
- Develop practical internal applications, solutions and integrations to address business needs.
- Lead the setup and configuration of laptops, mobile devices, accounts and other equipment for new and existing employees.
- Manage IT equipment procurement, inventory, deployment and replacement.
- Support employee onboarding and offboarding from an IT and systems-access perspective.
- Administer and support company software, user accounts, permissions and access.
- Work closely with teams across the wider business to understand their technology requirements and develop appropriate solutions.
- Create clear IT processes, documentation and user guidance.
- Support cybersecurity best practices, data protection and appropriate access controls.
- Manage relationships with external IT, software and technology vendors where required.
- Evaluate new platforms and technologies and make recommendations to management.
- Take ownership of IT projects and drive them through to successful implementation.
- Help establish a scalable IT environment that can support continued company growth.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience in IT support, systems administration or a similar hands-on IT role.
- Broad technical knowledge across hardware, software, networking, user administration and cloud-based business systems.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments, including user and access management.
- Strong interest in AI, automation and emerging technologies, with the ability to identify practical business applications.
- Experience developing or implementing workflows, automations, integrations or internal applications would be highly beneficial.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable taking ownership of projects and working with limited supervision.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical colleagues.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage day-to-day support requirements alongside longer-term projects.
- A proactive mindset and willingness to identify problems and propose solutions rather than simply responding to issues.
- Experience supporting a growing or multi-location organization would be an advantage.
Why Join DECI?
This is an opportunity to join a growing international company at a stage where you can have a genuine impact on how our IT function develops.
Rather than stepping into a narrowly defined support position, you will have the opportunity to build, improve and influence the systems and processes used across the business.
The role offers significant scope for professional development and progression as the company continues to expand. For someone who enjoys technology, problem-solving, AI and building better ways of working, there is plenty of room to make the position your own.
