We're looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused IT Support Officer to join our Information Technology team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems, supporting people, and working with a wide range of technologies in a dynamic local government environment. The role supports Council staff and Elected Members across a broad range of IT systems and services, helping ensure our technology enables great outcomes for our community.

The Opportunity | Te Whai WāhitangaThis role offers a unique mix of:

·       Service desk and helpdesk support.

·       Hardware, software and end-user device deployment and maintenance.

·       Network, Wi-Fi, telecommunications and connectivity troubleshooting.

·       User onboarding, offboarding and access management.

·       IT security support, system maintenance and troubleshooting

·       Microsoft 365 and business application support.

·       IT documentation, knowledge sharing and system improvement projects.

·       Collaboration with internal stakeholders and external technology providers.

What You'll Bring | Ō Pūkenga me Ō WheakoWe are looking for someone with the following:

Essential:

·       Relevant IT qualification or equivalent practical experience in IT support.

·       Experience troubleshooting hardware, software and system-related issues.

·       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

·       Current full driver's licence.

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable:

·       Experience with GIS platforms, mapping tools or spatial data.

·       Local government or public sector experience.

·       Understanding of information management, privacy and information security requirements
